After cleaning the engine with water my Triumph (Bonnivelle 2004) won't start but after leaving for a while it fires up.(Two days!) But now there's a problem in the rain it's now starting to run on one cylinder and cuts out. Can anyone help? John
Water is getting into your ignition coils.
Trace the spark plug lead up to the coil.
Get some ignition sealer spray and spray loads of it on the leads and coil.
When a bike is new, it is sealed. After washing with detergents it gets washed away. Spray the leads and coil once a week to keep them totally dry.
An immediate way to get round when wet is to spray wd40 on the leads and coil, it should start straight away.
But, don`t spray ignition sealer on until it is totally dry.
Hope this helps
