Instructions

    • 1 Turn the gas valve between the gas tank and the carburetor to the off position. Place the drain container under the nut on the bottom of the carburetor.
    • 2 Remove the nut on the bottom of the carburetor with the pliers. Drain the gas into the container and then replace and tighten the nut.
    • 3 Remove the stock jets from the right and left side of the carburetor with the screwdriver. The jets are the gold pins that are in clear view.
    • 4 Insert the new jet pins into the jet holes according to the instructions in the jet package. Tighten the jets according to the jet chart in the rear of the owner's manual.

Can any one tell me what the settings are for the pilot scew on my benelli 491 rr carburettor

Start the bike and let it idle in neutral. Keep it idling for at least 8-10 minutes so the bike is good and warmed up. Once the bike is warmed up adjust the carburetor screw in or out little bits at a time until the bike idles at approx. 1800 RPM! Easy fix. Good luck!

4 wheeler backfire on start

incorrect air fuel mixture or a leak check for damage to the intake boot or airbox

i need to know more about how its running at low mid and high rpm to help you troubleshoot and you need to check for leaks especiely the intake boot if the intake boot is leaking that will need to be fixed before running the bike asumeing that is ok or fixed run the bike listen to it at idle standing is it surgeing with a good fast acceleration off the line with you siting on the quad ? or just realy rough ticking over with little guts off the line ?

midrange rideing how does it feel is there a bwarrr noise as u accelorate hard or does the engine roar up fast

is it reaching a good top end with good pulling power or poor pulling power

are the backfires constant or mainly whyle slowing down from high revs

if all are effected but there are no leaks then it may be float / fuel level that needs ajustment fuel level in ur float bowel effects all stages of rpm low mid and high

A rich problem gets worse as the engine heats up.

A lean problem gets better as the engine heats up.

hope this helps if u dont fix it your self first try and do them little rpm backfire tests for me itl tell me a lot

What is idle RPM of Pulsar 150 DTSi 2007 model. Mine shows 1500 and after warm-up show 2000

Most bikes are in the 1000rpm range unles they are 2 stroke (some small Aprillas etc.), dont always go by the tacho meter, you can usually hear if the bike is idling too high or too low and idle adjustment is usually fairly easy once you find the adjuster screw.

RUNNING PROBLEM, ZZR600

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, remove the sparkplugs, note and postback the colors of the tip.

Almost always, idling problem is a carb issue (air/fuel mix & amount), On the otherhand, refusing to accelerate past a certain speed (or more particularly, a certain RPM while under load) indicates an air leak. Test drive the bike again and note where it starts to fail to accelerate, consistently on 35MPH or a particular RPM.

Please postback results of above checks.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Fuel filter and how many rpm's should my bike be idleing at

The filter is located on the fuel line half way between the tank and carbs (if it has one as some bikes don't) The Rpm's at idle should be around 900 but can be a little higher or lower for better sound or performance.
