You have probably figured out by now that your ABS is showing a fault. There are three places that can send this fault. Front, rear sensors and the ABS control unit.

I bought a R1100RS with a bad (damaged) front sensor. After replacing the front sensor the flashing continued. After trying to reset the system myself (jump some of the connectors with a short wire) I took the bike down to the BMW dealer who reset the ABS system for $50 and I was back in business.

Now the ABS just fails to reset when the tempratures are below 40 degrees. I let the machine warm up completely and the ABS will setup properly after I get moving at about 15 mph.

If you are convinced that the front and rear ABS sensors are in good shape and set the correct distance, It is your ABS central system. If you are lucky, it just needs to be reset. If you are not, the unit itself will set you back $400-650 depending on whether you get a used or a new unit.

Unless you are really good with electricals, you will probably end up at the BMW dealer to get this resolved.

If you want to try yourself, google the problem until you get one of the BMW rider pages, and you will find the steps to reset the ABS. Good luck and enjoy your R bike. I do enjoy mine....yes, mine is a red one also.

My abs light don't come on my ford 2003

abs light on dash panel should only light for two seconds upon starting of engine , then go out . if it comes on and stays on then this indicates a fault has been detected in your abs system , by body control module (fault can be any where on car) a code reader will be required to know reason for abs fault

The issue started with the radio cutting in and out or switching discs then progressed to the lights on the dash and driver area start flashing or stay on and the in dash display computer basically freaks...

Your problem sounds like varying voltage to me, like the voltage regulation is not functional. Have you had the alternator tested to make sure that the voltage/amperage is regulated at a constant level?

Red warning triangle with straight line in flashing on dash?

ok buddy, how long do you wont to live for???????
this flashing warning light is your ABS light!!!! like your brakes dont work right!!! look at the brake hydraulic fluid level, is it full up???? you could turn off your ABS by pushing down on No 3 switch along from the left on the lower switch pannel, but its your neck, also try starting the motor them put on both brakes (front and back) hold them on for a fuw seconds before you pull awaythis could reset the ABS, but get it sorted fast

Abs light flashing alternatively when putting ignition on

There is a simple way to fix it as I've discovered. Start your bike, if lights are flashing ride for a mile or two applying the rear brake a few times. Stop the bike and place on centre stand. switch off motor then restart. Your flashing lights should have gone. Why the flashing happens is if you ride and use your rear brake rarely and then your bike sits for a day or two without use your rear brake assembly fully retracts, ie pads away from disc and ABS gizzmos inactive. The ABS sensor unit then reports extended non use pattern to the onboard 'brain' which activates the warning mode of flashing lights. This has worked for me several times over the last 5 years when its occured. Full ABS operations return. Tried it on a mates bike and it fixed same problem on his.
