Car runs great until you put gas in then it won't start back until it sits for a while then you are good until the next time you get gas or as long as your foot never touches the gas peddle when you are starting the car. If you depress the gas peddle when trying to start the vehicle it will not start for a while. you have to let the car sit for a while then you can start it right up any ideas on what causes this
Try this, if the car wont start push the pedal all the way to the floor and hold it ther while you crank. It sounds like you are flooding the car some how. Pushing the pedal to the floor puts the car into clear flood mode and it shuts off the fuel flow. try and see just a suggestion

The first thing i would check is the fuel pressure. the fuel pump may be running, but that doesn't mean that it is putting out the right amount of fuel
You may not believe what I am going to say, but pumping the gas pedal does nothing to make the engine start. The throttle position sensor does not start sending a signal to the computer until after the engine starts. However, cranking the engine for an extended period of time could have an effect. If the fuel pressure is low, cranking the engine would build it back up to normal. I would suggest you have the fuel pressure checked before and after the first attempt of the day. The car would need to sit overnight for the first test.
This may be a fuel injected engine. On some vechicles when they run out of gas you have to turn the key, but not try to start the car. Give it a few seconds for the gas to feed back through the gas line. Once you turn the key, the fuel pump will start pumping the gas to the engine for the carburator. If that does not work, then give it a little gas, no too much or you could flood the carburator. Try to start the car again.
Hey all. I've had my 2003 in twice for the Crankshaft position sensor. In Feb 08 it fixed everything. My car wouldn't start when it had been running for a while. I'd pull into a gas station, then go to start it again and it would just turn over. Same thing just happened in July 2010. They replaced the crankshaft position sensor again, but now it's still doing the same thing. If I let the car sit for 20-25 minutes, it will start and run just fine. However, this time around the check engine light is on and it has never come on. I'm open to any suggestions as to what to try next. What is the PCM exactly?
This is an idea not a for sure. Bad or worn valves can cause what you describe. Had something similar happen to an 2004 Toyota. Due to bad lubrication, crazy huh?
