Frustrated that I cannot get my duc to go. Replaced my clutch this summer with the batt. Returen from a tripp (approx a month) and she wouldn't turn over. I replaced it with a lithum ion batt today and she fired right up, however my original problem remains. As soon as I drop it 1st it cuts out, if I stat it in 1st it lunges foward but never turns over. Been lloking online for clues but nothing. Any Ideas?
You probably already checked this ... is your side stand down when the engine stalls? Many bikes have a safety interlock switch the kills the engine if the side stand is not in the proper stored position when the bike is put into gear.
Yes, I've ensured my stand was up while engaging 1st gear.
Tried something this past weekend I jumpered the plug that contains the safty switch on the kick stand. It started up easy enough and was able to shift into 1st it moved a little WITH THE CLUTCH PULLED IN. What's up with that? I let out the clutch and forced a stall out.

Might be a fault in the side stand sensor, you cant go far with the side stand out, or if the sensor has not sensed the stand is up.

from your description, i would sugest you make sure fuel is getting to the injector unit, remove the fuel supply hose.if you have spark at the plugs and fuel getting to the injectors you have isolated the problem. i would also drain the old fuel when you take the hose off and fill the tank with high grade fuel. bikes dont like old gas.
