50cc chinese 2 stroke scooter wont run after it warms up

If cold, starts and idles fine. It will idle indefinitely, but once you take off it runs for about a city block and then dies and won't re-start. If it sits until completely cold, starts fine and same thing will happen when you try to ride it. I have installed a new carb, new plug (plug is not wet and perfectly tan), cleaned air cleaner, check vacuum valve on the tank. I'm stumped!

It's possible there is excessive wear on the piston rings.

SOURCE: 50cc Two Stroke Scooter Engine - Poor Idle

I had the same problem- from out of nowhere the scooter started dying at every stop. I adjusted the idle screw to 2000 and it still idled up and down. I bought some injector cleaner but this will take a while to work (several tanks of gas) and then found this link- seems to be a very simple thing to do once you read this link. I hope it helps. --

SOURCE: engine dies after it warms up good.

in the bottom of your carburator there shoud be a little plastics pieceand usualy it gets in the way of the float i take them out of carburtors all the time and usually it block the float so it floods out the motor i just found a picture on google of something like it. try taking that out and put ur carb back together like thatee760e91.jpg

Hi my bike wasnt sparking so i changed the stator and now bike runs but it dies or revs up on its own no matter what i do i tryed changing the e/choke for a new one but if i put that in it it wont start...

Have you tried ajusting the mix. screw on the side of the carb there should be one screw for idle (tick over), and one for mix. (the amount of air and fuel the engine needs), but make sure that the screw hasn't come out, if it is still in there screw it in but not to tight just until it stops then unscrew it 3 turns and try it, if it still runs fast unscrew it 0.25 of a turn. if it starts on tick over and its wont come down on the idle screw you need to turn it 0.25 of a turn until it slows down. if it doesn't start take the carb off and take the bowl of the bottom and clean any dirt out, there should be a tube in the centre with either a brass or plastic main jet make sure the hole is clear. When you put it back together make sure every thing is clean.

Bike wont kick start or idle , it will coast

first drain the carby, then set your air mixture screw 2 turns out, from the fully turned in position. The starting proceedure is as follows, when the engine is COLD, turn on fuel, pull on the choke fully, and kick the engine over. DO NOT use any throttle, when the engine is cold, and the choke is on. Remember Choke on, NO throttle.
When warm, no choke, and a little throttle when kicking.

Hard to start, and wont idle long.

Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging first. Turn both jet needles CW to stops (lightly), then back out each CCW 1-1/2 turns. Turn the idle speed screw CW about 1/2 turn. This is a basic setting and the engine should start and run. Allow to warm up, then pull the throttle full on and adjust the H needle CW til the engine speeds up somewhat, but is still 4-stroking. Correct setting is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and allow to idle. Turn the L needle CW until the engine runs fairly well, but still allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Adjust idle speed screw so that the chain stops moving, but still allows the engine to keep running. Hope this helps!
