    Thats what people claim but in 40 years of being a mechanic, I never had a vehicle in the shop that start on fire , ,From the head gasket leaking, The only way possible if it was pouring out oil. If there is antifreesze leakig out, It should be repaired ,Before it over heats the engine ,End doeoes really serous damage to the vehicle, If you do drive it If it starts over haeating pull over imediatlyend shut it down, End call a tow truck, Allso if you are going to drive it make shure your coolent leval is up, End the same goes for the oil, That you don,t do more damage to the motor,

Replacing head gasket is a hard job if its your first time.you have to remove top engine with fuel injectors fuel pressure regulator remove intake manifold and exhaust manifold. you have to remove timing belt.you have to head to machine shop to have clean cylinder head decked check for warpage.you might need valve job if valves look worn machine shop will check cylinder head for cracks.when you do a head gasket replacement it more to it than replace head gasket, if you just replace head gasket dont check nothing more likely head gasket wont seal if it warped,when put new head gasket on you will have same problem.fixing head gasket you need master mechanic tool set, you need torque wrench,need repair chilton or haynes manual which will give you torque specifications.head gasket repair expensive repair.

Where is the head gasket located at on a 1994 grand marquis
The head gasket (in your case gaskets) is located on the top of the engine block under the engine cylinder head which is under the Camshaft cover which is the very top of the engine. This car is a V8 engine so it has 2 heads and 2 head gaskets, one on each side of the engine. It is a very expensive job to replace head gaskets.

Head bolts and head gaskets. Let's see, you will need a lower and upper intake set as well. These head gaskets usually blew because bad fan relays caused the gaskets to blow and warped the heads. Ford used cheap oil pressure switches that leaked as well.

when u replace the head gaskets u must also replace any parts gasket that u remove (valve covers, intake manifold etc.) to get the heads off, they sell what is called a "Valve Grind" gasket set that is what u need, it will have all the gaskets in it u need..
