85 Honda 250R Bore Size Question?

Bore / stroke 66 x 72mm

72 mm stroke, so the difference in bore diameter is 1.5 mm. 72 x 1.5 = 108 cubic Millimetres. Divide by 10 to make it cubic centimetres and the answer is 10.8. Your new engine will be 256.8 cc.

2004 Yamaha DT125 RE. What are piston and ring sizes?

When you remove the cylinder, you should have the bore checked by a machine shop. The bore wears on the front and rear of the bore and can wear slightly oval. In which case it should be rebored and an oversize piston and rings used. The cylinder should also be honed so that the new rings and the bore wear in together and make a good seal. The standard is 56mm.

What oil can you use for a wr400, 2000 model?

I use a synthetic 10w40 in mine. Amsoil is expensive, but I would rather change oil, than a piston. I race in the woods, and change my oil and filter every three hours of runing time. You can go longer for milder riding such as every 5 to 6 hours. Yamaha also sells a good oil, synthetic, and semi-synthetic.

Max size of cylinder

The biggest bore would be 1mm over. The standard bore on that bike is 65.0mm
so you could bore up to 66mm and to be a 900cc you would need a bore size of 68.5 mm
So your answers
  1. Yes, it can be bored
  2. No,Not to a 900cc
  3. Piston size is 66mm (making it roughly an 843cc)
