SOURCE: removing the seat of V-Star 1100 Classic 2001?

is this just the seat itself or the seat cover? if its the seat assembly there should be 2 bolts holding the seat down located somewhere around the rear of the seat aprox 2 inches below the seat. if your talking about the seat cover you have to remove the staples thats holding the fabric down to the seat pan.

Always disable the air bag system first, to prevent accidental deployment of the air bags. The main airbag module is beneath carpeting under passengers seat. To remove passengers seat, At the rear of the seat remove the two bolts securing the tracks to the floor, tilt the seat up and towards the instrument panel, unplug any electrical connectors beneath and remove the seat. the front plastic track covers can remain in place while the seat track tabs are lifted out of the slots on the floor. Remove seat 2008 flhrc

There is one screw through the tab on the back of the seat to the rear fender that needs to be removed.
Additionally, if you have the grab strap between front and rear passenger seat, you need to either unbolt one end of it (the same bolt holds on the front saddle bag mount) and thread the strap through the slots in the seat, or unbolt on both sides of the strap.

Lift back of seat slightly, and pull seat to the rear to remove.

How to access the battery on a 2001 Suzuki Intruder Volusia 800

Use the allen wrench from the on board tool kit to remove the bolt behind the passenger seat pad, above your rear wheel. Pull the pad backwards to reveal 2 more bolts. Same allen wrench removes these two and the strap that secures the passenger pad. Pull the saddle back and you are done. Note that the bolt for the rear seat and the 2 for the saddle are not the same lengths when you go to put your cycle back together.
Battery is under the saddle.

Need installation instructions for oem vstar 1100 saddlebags and mounts.

Two bolts on the rear fender will need to be removed.
Also remove the passenger Pillion(Seat). Normally one bolt in the back and the pillion slides into the driver seat. Pulling back on the pillion after removal of the hold down bolt usually releases it.

The brackets to hold the saddlebags straight and away from the rear tire/ brake disc. Mounts with shims to the two bolt holes on either side of the bike. (remember those bolts removed earlier?) Center the saddle bags by eye. Sometimes it is best to have someone hold the bike straight and center from the rear. If the bike is on the kick stand, it will not be easy to center the saddle bags.

Next put the passenger pillion back in place.
Check the bracket clearance and make sure no part of the saddle bags are touching any moving part. You can bend the brackets to adjust but usually not necessary. Just be careful with the chrome fender flares.
Those curved chrome rear fender shiny things. :)
You can scratch the paint very easily while working with them.
Use a cloth/towel where you can to prevent marring of the paint.
Really simple to do with minimal tools. Some of the saddle bag bracket kits come with longer bolts. Use them!

My 1100 Vstar I used the twist rods from a set of Shoe Stretchers.
Screwed directly into a kuryakyn foot peg adapter. Black with a triangular tip worked great. Heck of a lot cheaper too!
Nice thing about this arrangement, only had to remove the foot peg bolts. Then the rear passenger seat. Easy to adjust the angle of the bracket by loosening the foot peg either side. Pull up, push down or bend out to get proper position.

Good luck!
Hope this helps!

How do the straps go for the saddlebags on a 2003 Buell Blast?

I have a 2007 Blast. It really depends on the make of the saddle bags but assuming they are generic soft bags, here is the usual procedure.

Remove the seat. The connecting center straps for the bags will go under the seat and are held in place by the seat itself. Laying the straps over the top of the seat will allow them to shift and/or blow completely off the bike.

Adjust the straps so that the bags are as close to the edge of the seat while still hanging at a verticle angle. Too loose they hang too low. Too tight and they will compress around the bodywork of the tail section and reduce the usable space inside the bag or possibly damage the contents you fill it with. Once the seat is put back on that is usually enough to keep the straps secured from sliding front or back but depending on the placement of the bag straps you could place a strap behind a d-ring peg to keep the bag from sliding down towards the front of the bike.

Usually you need to nothing more to secure the bags but depending on the bag itself there may be a strap you can anchor the bottom of each bag to the passenger peg or a strap that connects the two bags across the bottom of the bags. Just remember to NEVER anchor the bags to the swingarm. It may seem like a no brainer but you'd be surprised at how many people don't think that far ahead and do it anyway. LOL.

Seat removal

The strap that goes around the seat bolts to the fender under the fender it's self or to the sides near the front of the fender struts or behind the saddle bags if you have them.
They are usually held on by either an allen bolt or a capped hex bolt.
If it is attached under the seat it is held by 1 bolt through both ends to 1 hole.
