When I run the car, there is no noticeable loss in power, the automatic gear changes normally and the "hiccups" are gone. However, when the car stops, the "hiccups" return and idling speed is low and unstable. The spark plugs are correctly connected.
Engine stalls or RPM fluctuates at idle up and down. This problem
is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and
throttle valve but always run a OBD2 fault code as well as the
cleaning procedure. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use
carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC
chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is
running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the
speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and
blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the
negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Have you changed the fuel pump yet?I had the same exact problem.I replaced my fuel pump with an AUTOZONE PIECE OF JUNK fuel pump. That pump lasted almost 2 days. The second day i had it the truck didnt want to start but it did and it ran like ****,and when i put it in gear it ran as long as I didnt touch that gas pedal. You could go get a fuel pressure test or just replace it,your call. You might want to check your filter too but im sure its the pump.Good luck

There is a tech bulliten for ecu reprogramme that Jaguar use regarding the hesitation. Black smoke is normally due to a clogged up egr valve. Can be cleaned out easily

is the gap in the plugs correct as this makes them rev faster or slower is that all you have done was it running ok before if you still have the old plugs try putting the back in 1 at a time see if it makes any difference incase you have a faulty plug
Good tip. Thanks.
