Wont accelarate on my 1997 yzf600r the bike starts fine with the choke on. once i remove the choke and try to accelarate the throttle it starts to shut off. i change the spark plugs ,drained the fuel tank. its fine with the choke on please help

what color was the tips of the spark plugs when you removed them?  just with what information you gave, my first thing I would do is to spray some "deep creep" found at most auto parts stores.  Spray it in the opened carb as directed on can.  Since you say it runs fine with the choke out it runs, tells me that you have a fuel restriction some where.  Spraying Deep Creek will help this if it is the problem.  If no help, tell me more about the problem.  Does it rev up with the choke out?  Is there any noises when it is running that wasn't there before this problem(like a sucking noise).  Does this model have more than one carb?  Did you drain the float bowl?

You didnt say if the bike sat up for a while, if it has you have stopped up carbs the bike will run with the choke on but shut off when the choke is off says no fuel going thru the low speed jets clean them by taking the float bowls off and blowing them out with high pressure air

Wheres the choke on a 49cc pocket rocket

The choke is on the carb. Check if the carb set screw is set right, turn it all the way in and then back out 1 1/4 turns. then fine tune by 1/4 turn increments.

I have a 96 yamaha virago xv250. It cranks, and idles fine. The problem is, once you start riding and get into first, you get about halfway down on the throttle and it's like the engine is dying out,...

It sounds to me like your main jet or high speed circuits could be plugged up in the carb(s) or you could have water in the fuel. If you are reasonably mechanically inclined, I would suggest removing the carbs and giving them a good cleaning. You might want to give it a fresh set of plugs and a new air and fuel filter while you are at it.

My BMW R1100RT is difficult to start. Must use full choke, give full throttle once and then hit the start button. It then starts just when I let go of the start button. Often it refuses to start and then...

The choke actually just opens the throttle bodies a little (the bike is fuel injected). Try using putting on the 'choke', then pressing the start button, but dont touch the throttle. Does it start ok? Also, when started, if you use the 'choke' does it increase the engine speed? If it does not, then you need to set it up correctly.

Bike wont kick start or idle , it will coast

first drain the carby, then set your air mixture screw 2 turns out, from the fully turned in position. The starting proceedure is as follows, when the engine is COLD, turn on fuel, pull on the choke fully, and kick the engine over. DO NOT use any throttle, when the engine is cold, and the choke is on. Remember Choke on, NO throttle.
When warm, no choke, and a little throttle when kicking.
