Hi, I have a 200cc pit bike, it has a 163FML (CG200) engine and is bogging at start of throttle. It is better when choke is on but worse when choke is off until bike is hot, say after10mins running; it then gets better but still bogging when putting power on. At this piont when hot and left to idle it seems like there is a bake fire through the carb or more like a gulp for air. The carb is clean and I have used sillicon sealer to illiminate air getting into the esembly so only air that gets in is through the air fillter. I have put a new piston in the bike and was fine first ride, the problem seems to have started when the bike was jet washed but not sure if this has caused any problem beacuse the air filter and carb have been cleaned and oiled since. Any ideas, could valve clearance or tappets be the issue.

I had the same problem, Turns out that my shims were finished, replace the chims and check clearences.

Pull the slide out of the carb then remove the jet needle and move the clip one notch lower on the needle.

have you checked for vaccuum leaks at the intake manifold? you can check by pouring water over the gasket area when/ if you get it running!

You need to fix the fueling first - without fuel it won't run!
Your other problem sounds like an air leak - either the manifold or the carb. Check by spraying WD-40 or CRC at the manifold and carb join while the bike is running - if the revs change (either up or down) you have a leak.

If 2 stroke check crank seals, check plug cap for proper resistance, check for good fuel flow to carb.Spark should jump at least a 1/4" gap,NOT JUST the .030 or plug gap.
