You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

I have had this same problem! They say that the battery is fine, but it wont start. Jettas are just pieces of ****. I am so sick of mine> I have the 01 vw jetta VR6. I am in a state of actually loathing it. All I did when this problem occurs is have my battery recharged by sears or something, and it worked after that for a couple of months.

SOURCE: Jetta won't start

Hello,

I had the same problem when i replaced my battery.
1: unplug the battery
2: put key in ignition and turn to Aux Mode (that is the last click befor you turn the car on) Not all the way as if your turning the car on! Do not remove key! leave it in the ignition.
3. Hook up the battery and it will reset the computer. (wait for a few seconds)
4. Turn car on!

I have vw 2012 jetta TDI where the running/marking lights front/rear and dashboard lights are out.

Potential foundations for light issues in 2012 VW Jetta TDI: really look at wires, assess bulbs, wiring issues, flawed light/dimmer switches, control module, or battery. Counsel a repairman for precise finding and fixes.

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited has a new battery but won't start. When I try to jump start it, it just makes a clicking sound but won't start.

Most likely you have a bad connection somewhere. Trace the battery cables and clean/tighten all terminals or try jumping to a different lug. You might also try removing the starter and jumping directly to the starter to verify that it is good.

My VW golf TDi won't start since I changed my battery. It started fine for three days and now there is absolutely nothing there when I turn the key not even a click. Please help

1. Do all lights, accessories, central locking system etc in the car all operate normally.

2. Have you tested to see if the car starts when you try jump starting from another vehicle.

3. What warning lights were displaying on the vehicle a day or 2 before you had the problem.

4. Were you having the same starting problems with the old battery that you have just replaced.

2000 Jetta TDI alternator will only charge if we rev. the car to 2800 rpm. Why? We have to start the car, rev it and listen for the heater blower to get louder. If you forget to rev it after you start...

Voltage regulator. Thats what I would check first. Newer cars they Re built on to the alternator. I'd replace that first. Remember alleys disconnect battery when doing Nythong with electrical. If you don't and you hook up that regulator , it will fry it again!

If you wanna do a little more research google vw forum. Join a couple forums and start asking questions. Make specific forums havethousands if people who own the same cars as u, and moat likely many people on there have experienced the same issues u are, give it a shot.

Good luck!

Have you checked the radio fuse? You may have blown the fuse when you jumped the car. The fuse box should be out under the hood encased in black plastic.

2006 vw jetta tdi service engine light reset

With the key in the ignition (but not turned), press and hold the Odometer Reset Button on the right hand side of the panel. While still holding that button, turn the key (although not far enough to start the engine) and then press and hold the Minute button on the left side of the instrument pane(if pressing doesnt work try turning the knob clockwise until service light has gone off and skip the pressing)l. Release both buttons at the same time.
