SOURCE: clearance for inlet and exhaust valve adjustment

Hi there,

Not sure about clearance levels, but can tell you there is no English manual for the XJR 400 - only Japanese. Try the XJR owners club. It's full of troubleshooting questions answered in the forums.

Hope this helped

SOURCE: did yamaha make a wr 400 in 2004?

I think you will find that the WR426 was last made in 2002. From that point forward it was WR250 and WR450 in the manufacturing line.

Can't find out what year my Yamaha WR 400 is: Chassis # is JYACH04W000013915

Motorcycles are the year they are first sold. There is not a model year like cars. Your motorcycle may have been built in 1997 or 1998 or 1999. You claim it is a 1999 in your question. The true answer is on your title.

I've got a yamaha kodiak 400 and ca't get it to idle. Appears to be to rich. If I turn the fuel off it will idle ok. I,ve checked the float level hight and starter plunger but have run out of ideas.

change the needle valve and seat in the carb also check for debrise' in the fuel line, contaminents no matter how small can hold the needle valve open also check the clearance on the intake valve to insure proper adjustment
