My Yamaha FZR600 gently rolled off the side stand and fell on to its left side but fortunatley did not sustain any cosmetic damage whatsoever. However, after it fell it will only run on 2-cylinders (1 and 4). I cannot understand what the effect would be on the plugs or coil pack (I assume that it could be either of these). Prior to the fall it was running perfectly on all 4 cylinders. I have had a brief look to see how to get access to remove the spark plugs to carry out the basic checks but the frame downtube seems to be obscuring the access to the plugs. Any help would be greatly appreciated on finding the fault and getting the spark plugs out. This is my first *** sports bike as I have been used to British bikes and 1970's *** fours.

I have had the same problem. It is not the spark plugs - although it is always a ggod idea to change them to eliminater them as a potential issue.
The Spark plug holder can be a problem - in my case the wires leading from the ignition lead into the holder - had started to work loose- a common problem apparently. Solved by changing the holders.

this happens after they sit a while, get her started, get her rolling, put her in second gear, hold the clutch in, get her up to 20 miles an hour, hold a little throttle on and slam on the rear brake, this usually will free up the stuck friction plates. If not try it a couple of times, it has always worked for me, also if that does not work for you you have to take the side cover off of the engine (clutch side) and using a flat headed screwdriver, and a zip tie to hold the clutch lever back to the handle bar, place the screwdriver in between the clutch plates and gently pry them apart from each other, on your bike I believe you have 7 friction plates and 6 steel plates. ( if you have to remove the cover go get a gasket first).

hi,says here you had the carbs redone,it sounds to me like the carbs were not rebalanced after installation,if you do any work at all ocn carbs it is quite important that the carbs be properly rebalanced,it only takes very minor adjustments inside carbs(even a scratch on a jet)or different torque settings on screws etc will trow the balance out,if you get this done i think your problem will disappear..hope this helps

I had the same problem. I found that the ground on the wire harness under the seat was not grounded! It is worth a check.
