Won't hold charge? Completely dead.
Set the meter on DCvoltage not AC test the battery voltage you should have at least 12.2 or so I'm next start the bike and check your voltage again and you should have around 13.6 or something close to it if not you need to do more testing or see a mechanic
Doesn't sound like the bike is charging your battery. Check the voltage regulator and the stator.
how do you check voltage reg and starter?
FYI, the flywheel is the main issue with these awesome bikes from withholding a charge. The magnetos tend to get loose on the flywheel with due time, that's all.
The bike has to be charging or it would of shut off long before the battery completely drained to the point of no light's. I'm thinking you have a direct to ground short draining your battery or just a faulty ground.

Sounds like a charging issue. First check all wires and make sure they are clean and making good contact, then check for proper voltage at the battery. I ride a harly so I don't know the exact voltage to look for but it most likly is around 13V at the battery if it isn't you need to look at your voltage regulator and stator.

Sometimes after trying to start a bike with a weak battery the starter solenoid gets damaged,or loose connections develop on the solenoid due to heat.It should be next to the battery.
SOURCE: battery keeps loosing charge- kymco cruiser 125, 2005
I had this exact same problem on a hipster 125, it was a faulty regulator module ( mounted under the seat) I also found a short circuit (somewhere) in the wiring loom between the regulator output and the chassis (probably what killed the regulator in the first place!) I cut and replaced the entire wire to save removing most of the loom and after testing reg to ensure it was dead i fitted a new one (about £60) bike charges and runs like a dream now even with fully lights approx 80% of the time. good luck

Check to make sure "RUN" switch is on.
It is also possible the "START" button is bad.
SOURCE: battery keeps going dead. i can jump start my bike
The first thing you need to do is test your charging system. The easiest way to do this is by using a digital multimeter with the setting set on AC Volts, start the bike and connect the meter to the battery, the meter should read between 13-15 volts AC. rev motor a little and watch meter to see if volts go up it should. If the volts rise then your charging system is functioning properly. If the volts are less than 12 volts then you may need to take the bike to a shop to have further testing done by a mechanic to see if it is the stator or regulator/rectifier.
