2003 honda cbr 954rr wont stay running unless starter is held in

Hey guys, im new to this, my bikes a 2003 honda cbr 954rr. but what recently happened was, i drove all last night, going from place to place, turning it on and off, and finally when i was about to leave my girlfriends house, i left and went down the street, turned it off and tried to sstart it again a few minutes later. wouldnt start. so i kept trying and trying and finally got it going, but as soon as i let go of the starter, it died. so i tried it again. same thing, died on me. the only way it stays running is if i keep the starter button down. tried turning it off and then back on and the lights werent working this time, not the turn signals nothing, not even on the speedometer. so i tried to start it, held in the starter and rev'd it up trying to get some juice to the battery. still nothing. died again. and when i hold in the starter and try and turn my signals on or my brights it just dies. i took the battery out today and went to go get it checked. they said its a good battery just needed to be charged. so i charged it and put it back on and still the same thing. IDK WHAT TO DO!! i need help! if you would like to help me quicker. please someone just text or call me! its my only vehicle and i need to figure something out now! and the local suzuki dealer is backed up for 2 weeks. its a small town and thats all we got! haha. 9406132983 is my number. someone just call me! maybe we can diagnose the problem.

SOURCE: 1998 Honda Goldwing will not start nothing.

Sort of sounds like a Twilight Zone kind of problem doesn't it. I would have the battery checked for an internal dead short. This is something that happens on odd occasions and can happen even to a new battery. Yea, the little lights will work ( they do not draw much juice ), but the starter motor draws a lot of juice and a shorted battery just ain't got it. Also check the wiring harness connections. One loose connection can cause bunches of trouble.

SOURCE: 1974 honda cb550 will not run?

• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?

• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.

SOURCE: should my 03 honda cbr 954 stay running after I

The altenator combined with regulator should keep the engine running without a battery. It may run a bit lumpy but it should run.
You have either a regulator or an alternator fault.

Bike wont actually 2003 honda cbr 600rr

In cleaning your bike you have caused some sort of problem. Start with checking the battery terminals to make sure they are connecting properly. That is what your problem sounds like. Then check to make sure you have not dislodged any electrical wires, and lastly, get your battery checked to make sure that it has not dis-charged during your cleaning operation. This would be easier with a manual if you have one.
