Breather pipe the two breather pipes that are fixed 2 the tank .the smaller pipe where does the oher end fix to

go for a second opinion --but as dealer stated its molded to tank tanks are made of plastic

what machine? most breather pipes go up and into the starter cowling. machines like newer stihl have breathers that just sit on top of the tank

There are 3 connections on the new tank. 1- feed/suction. 2- return. 3-breather. You should be able to look inside the tank and tell which is which. The 2 coming in the front botton is feed and return. The return should have a small tube sticking up inside the tank. The feed will not have a tube on it. The breather will be at the top of tank (if it is on the bottom it will also have a tube sticking up inside the tank.

The port on top of the carb ( pump cover ) takes the pipe from the crankcase, this is the pulse to work the pump diaphram, the pipe with the filter on the end goes to the port lower down on the carb, the other pipe from the tank is the tank breather, it just pushes onto a plastic nipple on the orange plate under the carb, this pipe is only to keep dirt out of the breather but needs to be open .so the nipple is just somewhere to keep the pipe held.

a fuel line( runs to a fitting on carbs which feeds all carbs with a common tube)
a vacumn line to opperate the fuel tap(slightly larger diameter comes off the manifold)
a tank breather line

The fuel pump is inside the tank and is accessed from the top of the tank, so you'll have to remove the tank.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the filler cap.
Drain the fuel from the tank(retighten drain plug to 20Nm - 14lbf after draining)
Remove the right hand rear fender liner.
Remove the tank under cover fixing bolts and remove the cover.
Disconnect tank wiring.
Disconnect the piping at the tank(Fuel filler, evap hoses, air breather hose).
The fuel supply and release lines are quick release. Supply has 2 tabs that need to be squeezed before the pipe can be pulled apart. The return line has a square block that needs to be pressed to split the line. The fuel lines may have residual pressure inside so cover with a cloth when releasing so you dont end up with fuel in your eyes. When refitting lightly coat with oil to aid assembly.
You can now undo the tank fixing bolts and remove the tank.(When refitting tighten to 36 Nm - 27lbf)
Once you have the tank on the ground you can remove the pump by undoing the fixing screws and withdrawing it from the tank.

There should be 4 open ports on the carb 1 smaller ones towards the right carb to the front which is the vacuum hose that connects to the smaller connection on the petcock, then the 2 larger holes which are side by side 1 on each carb, they are the breathers, the fuel line goes to the one that is the highest connected by the fuel pipe which you can see going through it and then that connects to the larger hookup on the fuel petcock. The breather hoses just hang down but watch where you put them because they tend to **** in dirt if they are closer to the ground try facing them under the seat away from where dust could be although its pretty unavoidable.

Disconnect battery ground cable. Loosen fuel filler cap. Support underneath of the fuel tank protector Disconnect evaporative fuel hose at the canister. Disconnect fuel feed hose and fuel return hose near the fuel filter. Plug both ends of the fuel hoses to prevent fuel leakage. Disconnect air breather hose and fuel filler hose at the fuel filler neck. Cover fuel hose to prevent any dust entering. Remove the four fuel tank assembly fixing bolts at four corners of the tank. Let down the tank and disconnect the wiring connectors Remove fuel tank assembly along with protectors Remove retaining cover and roll over & float valve along with the evaporative fuel hose and pipe Remove fuel pump and sender assembly by removing the snap ring with the fuel hoses Remove protectors by removing the six fixing bolts

one's a breather and one is petrol overflow (i think?) they will both go down to near the left foot and come out at the end with another pipe...the coolant overflow.
