Battery won't hold charge

It most likely needs a new battery, but you could try giving the battery a full charge first:

1. Power off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
2. Re-seat the battery (remove/reinsert)
3. Reconnect the power adapter and let it charge overnight. (6 hr+)
4. Disconnect the power adapter.
5. Power on the laptop (run under battery power only)

If it doesn't boot up and shuts down immediately, it's probably time to see about a replacement battery.

on some older laptops the battery has to be installed for it to turn on.
if the battery don't hold a charge it's no good.. but you need it to get power from plug.

Compaq pressario f500 power supply not working while laptop is powered on, yet charges when off

Check that the power supply is the correct one for the laptop. It sounds as if the supply doesn't have enough power to supply the laptop (Watts)

My aspire 5100 wont hold charge without charger

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

My garmin nuvi 250w wont turn on

Try this: Slide and HOLD the power switch into the ON position for 10 seconds or until it turns on - which ever happens first. This forces a reset / reboot of the GPS. It does NOT delete any data.

If that doesn't work, the battery may be discharged. Recharge by connecting to your computer's USB port with a USB cable, or with the AC adapter (if yours came with one) for 8 hours. Do not use your car's cigar lighter or power point to do this (it won't work). Turn on as normal or failing that, use the slide & hold method detailed above. After starting up with the slide & hold method successfully, subsequent power up operation can be done in the normal manner. You can use the slide & hold method any time the GPS fails to start up normally.

One power up method or the other should allow the GPS to start if the battery still has a useful life. If it does not power up, it is likely that the battery is no longer capable of holding a charge. In this case, you may purchase a battery and attempt to replace it yourself (this is a fairly involved process), or you can contact Garmin Tech Support to arrange for a flat-rate repair.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Hello.I've got an Asus K52JE.Today I looked at the

97% isn't that bad, it means that your battery is fully charged but not the whole way. That is bound to happen specially when youre using youre battery a lot. It will get a lot more lesser in the future the more you use youre battery.
The standard laptop battery starts losing the ability to hold a charge after 300 recharges or cycles. If you drain your battery almost completely at least once a month and then recharge it, it will last longer & hold a full charge longer.

Acer Travelmate C112TCi- Won't power on

Hi,
Remove the adapter and the battery from the laptop.
Press the power button and hold it down for 20 seconds(without the battery or adapter plugged in to it). This process is called POWER DRAIN.
Now connect only the adapter and try to turn it on.
If it starts up, there is no problem with the adapter or the laptop.
If it doesn't, it can be either the adapter or the laptop.
You will have to check it with a different adapter to confirm which one is faulty.

The second case is that the computer powers on only with the adapter.
Then you can put the battery back in and try powering it up.
If it doesn't work, try connecting the adapter too.
If still it doesn't work, its a faulty battery.

Sometimes after doing a power drain, the computer will work fine.
If you have any more issues, feel free to contact me.
