2005 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Logo
Anonymous Posted on Dec 06, 2008

I have bajaj pulsar 150cc 2005 make, when the vehicle is in cold or when we start the bike in the morning or start the bike after parking it for more than 2 hours. The vehicle idelling or RPM will go down and it off the vehicle if i dont raise the exsalator after running for more than 10 mins the vehicle RPM will be in 1500 RPM. Only when the vehicle is in cold condition the RPM goes to zero if i dont raise the exsalator. If we increase the idilling to 1500 RPM in cold condition of the vehicle after running the bike for 10 mins it will increase to 2500 RPM. i have taken to service station but it was difficult to reproduce the issue. can you please suggest.

Today i got it cleaned but did not resolve the issue. The issue is noticed only when we park the vehicle for long time(say 2+hours) and then try to start the vehicle the idling will be zero before parking or when we have ran the vehicle for more than 5-10 mins the idling will be increased to 1500RPM and now if you increase to 2500 RPM and park the vehicle for more than 2+ hours and start the RPM will be 1500 and after running 5-10 mins it will increase to 2500 RPM. i am noticing this issue from last 2 months only.

This problem might b due to some block in your bik's carburetor better suggest ur mechanic to clean it up thoroughly and this may fix ur prob. Even then if ur having the same problem then change to a new carburetor...try 2 fix this problem as soon as possible else you ll get very low milage......

Pulsar RPM or idling problem.

sounds like when you say cold you mean very cold. If your choke has variable control on it try using more choke until the motor gets warm. Often times the cold weather causes a leaner condition because the air ppm is so much greater leaving you with a leaner running condition.
