You have a short hard to find if in the loom usually is connection directly to the back of ignition. Probably has caused the coils to fail if you replace coil pack without fixing the short you will burn out the coils again. Does it send power to the coils sometimes when ignition is off? this will destroy your coils over time

What is a control module?

cars have many , control modules, most are microcomputer based.
the PCM on the Forenza runs the engine, EFI
spark and fuel and transmission shifting.
can be lots of things,
lost spark
check all fuse first, that means test them if they look good.
second, is use a scan tool to see why it dont start..(spark dead? and why)
there is no distributor on a 06. !
but there are 4 engines, used, not posting which engine, makes help near impossible.
most cars, 06, suzuki, usa , have a single coil pack
it has 4 coils inside ,one for each cylinder.
so are all 4 coils dead? is that it?
spark leaves the coil pack it never has sparking going it to it.
the coil if fired from the PCM
the PCM fires the coil with and ignitor.
the PCM fires the igniter if the CMP and CKP sensors work.

see coil pack below?
if all 4 are dead, we scan it after fuse checks. always....

1998 bmw 540i having a misfire on cylinder 5 changed the plugs and coil packs. It ran fine for a couple days, then it began again, giving me a check engine, and it's idling rough at low rpms.

Is the same cylinder causing the problem? If so take a close look at the spark plug for fuel fouling. The cylinder may be over fueled causing plug fouling. You may also have a bad coil or defective spark plug. Try swapping coil and plug with one from adjacent cylinder to see if misfire changes to that cylinder

Not getting fire from coil on 2006 suzuki frenza

it has 2 internal , wasted spark coils.
there is not one coil, but looks like 1 large pack but is really not.
it has 2 coils inside , 1 running 1and 4 and one running 2 and 3 spark plugs.
so are all 4 failing
and did you use the correct test, for wasted spark. in that
you must test 1 and 4 at once? and 2 and 3 at same time.
did you?
the fuel pump relay sends 12v to power the coil pack.
so if that is dead, so will all spark all 4 sparkplugs.
repost stating if you have 1 or All spark dead.

hi there have just fixed a mates bike tonite who had a spark on only one plug so what i did was take out all the plugs and with a small file i gently cleaned all the plug tops is an easy enough job so cleaned them all checked for fowling ie black spark heads oily heads or maybe a strong smell of petrol from the plugs these can indicate a problem with the mix fuel oil ratio but when the guy i helped drove off with all the plugs cleaned his bike started fine idled fine and sounded lovely lol is an easy job and try this first before buying new plugs hope this helps

1986 VF500F Honda Interceptor Just bought the bike today. The guy we bought it off of said it needed new spark plug wires. He gave us the wires and also the coils. My husband replaced the spark plugs,...

Any idea how long the bike sat without running? So assuming spark plugs weren't wet, it's likely not getting fuel. If it hasn't run for a year or so, you'll have to empty the fuel tank and drain the carbs. Try fresh gas and new spark plugs. Make sure the fuel tap is on and fuel is flowing into the carbs. Also be sure your choke is closing when you move the lever. Check to be certain kill switch is in the run position. Charge battery so you have good cranking power.

1999 Town Car began running very rough - suddenly.

When cleaning your engine, water/degreaser went down the spark plug ports. Try using a air compressor blow gun to remove the moisture from around the spark plugs and boots. The water was causing the engine to misfire on 3 cylinders at first and as the ports started to evaporate the moisture, the less misfiring was occuring. Dry thouroughly and hopefully coils do not have damage to them. Also check to make sure the boot is making good contact with the spark plug.
