My brake lights on the 1997 Valkyrie only work in the handle bar mode. The foot brake does not light up. The Brake works but no light

The brake lights do not work when I press the foot pedal. It does work when I hit the hand brake.

SOURCE: My headlight is DIM even

Hi,
Not an easy one here,,,, Take out the brake light bulb (eliminating problem bulb) if light still dulls it's a wiring problem ! , most likely at swing arm or chassis to mud guard or wheel arch .
If not, (no problem) run a seperate earth wire from battery to headlight earth (make sure of polarity) This will indicatean EARTHING problem . Do the Same for the positive side which will indicate a problem at the front fork to headlamp assy area (not likely)

SOURCE: Honda vt750 brake light not working have replaced

the wires typicaly are ran under your rear fender, this leads to the possibilty of tire hitting wire and breaking it. friend had a bigdog and everytime his wife rode '*****' (no she aint a hog) around 5 miles brake light would quit.

The brake light on my Honda motorcycle is not working from front brake handle, how do I fix this?

The brake light switch for the front brake is pressure-actuated. Is the reservoir low or empty?
Also, check to verify that the connector has not corroded, preventing the flow of current.

Have a 2006 dyna wide glide foot brake light brake light hand brake does not replaced lever wherte is the brake switch

The front brake switch is located inside the right handlebar control. It is a plunger type switch. The correct way to install a new one is to solder the wires on the new switch to existing wires from the old switch. Cut the wires about 2 inches or so from the old switch. Be careful when reinstalling the front lever or you may damage the plunger on the new switch.

Brake light works but tail light does not

If you have already checked your bulb and fuses, you probably have a wiring issue. Check connections at the taillight and under the seat where the taillight harness plugs in.

Brake lights stay on

There may be TWO switches under the dash on the drivers side, that work off of the brake pedal. Doesn't seem to make sense, but one is the regular switch, and the other one just goes to the brake bar over the back window.
