2001 1500 intruder ....no spark - 2001 Suzuki VL 1500 Intruder LC

Check you have spark and fuel first.

An electrical part is worn causing ovrheatn. Ignition parts need to b tests..coil. Plugcables ignition module or components on alternator. Get a clymer or haynesmanual

It's either 18mm or 5/8's make sure it's a spark plug socket or it won't have the rubber insert used to grab the plug once it's loose.

Fouling of the spark plug makes the exhaust extremely hot due to the burning of the fuel mixture inside the exhaust pipe and the spark plug end turn to black, fouling of the spark plug may be due to too rich fuel mixture check the correct setting of the air valve.

Intake valve:cold 0.010-0.15mm

Exhaust valve:- cold 0.18-0.32mm
Idling speed :-1400+/- 100
Carburator airscrew 3.25 turns outwords.
Spark plug NGK CR8E
Spark plug 2 NGK CR8EIX
Spark plug Gap: 0.60mm.

check ht lead is pressing against the spark plugs check the spark plug gap and replace ht leads and plugs if need be cheers

you have to take off your chrome cylinder covers.back one on the left front on right.they are in there.
