My 03 kawasaki ninja zx636 will not display a speed reading it happened when my chain came off when i was riding the temp gauge works and the revs show but no speed reading

Hi there,

you'll need to check for the speedometer cable (of its analog.) the cable inside it might be broken. Else, i suppose when your chain snapped, it hit the wires connected to the speedometer. might as well check it out.
Hope this helps,

Having a problem with the speedometer on 2001 SV650

You need to replace the speedometer cable. The years of turning inside the protective cable have worn it out. Disconnect both ends and the piece(s) supporting the cable and replace it. Simple and relatively quick too. Happy Riding.

Speedometer not working properly

It could be one of two items to search out.....your speedo cable is bad, or the speedometer drive is bad..both are easy fixes.

it has no cable, it is an electronic speedo, you will need to pull the speedo out and send it out for repair, here is a place that can do the work much cheaper than the dealer. call them.1-888-495-2777

Vespa gt125 Speedometer stopped working

- the speedometer-cable is broken -that happens after some years all of a sudden
- the problem is: it is not easy to fix because you need to remove the instrument panel to get to the upper connector of the new cable going to the speedometer and to replace the complete cable
