Need to know how to check oil on the frame on a 2005 yz250f never seen the oil in the frame and the tranny oil and motor oil in one just road bike three or four time since got back shop head rebuild

Stand the bike upright. In front of the fuel cap is a smaller black knob with a flat raised section on it.Undo this and pull it out. This is the oil dipstick.Wipe it and put it back in and without screwing it in.Pull it out and check the oil level. If the level is low,add oil through the dipstick hole.Hope this helps you

Looking to see how much oil a YZ250F holds, and what oil to put in it.

From a YZ250F service manual >

c780f39.gif Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell.
