Sounds like a bad ground,check for voltage at the plug in usually 3 -4 wires 1 ground,1 low beam,1 high beam,and possible 1 with power soon as the key is on for running light.
check fuel level, u may need to check the flow of petrol to it,,Also if that does not solve you may need to service the carb and check fuel filter,air filter etc...
