1100 wierd clutch disengage problem

I was driving my bike for about a week with no problems then last night i tried to put it in first while holding down the clutch lever and it just grinds a gear then dies like the clutch lever was never pressed. i put the bike in neutral and it moves fine. if i put it in first without touching the clutch lever it wont move like usual but if i press the clutch lever the bike moves but harder like clutch is half engaged. i think the clutch wont disengage properly and i have already bled the clutch system with dot4 twice. anybody know whats going on?

Bleed your slave cylinder on the sprocket cover and refill the hydraulic fluid. If you have any leaks you will get air in the system and it will not fully disengage the clutch. As for the 750, they have cable clutches and you just need to adjust the slack of the cable.

Clutch does not disengage gears

You either have a hydraulic clutch system or cable. What probably happened is your hydraulic system failed. You either have a separate reservoir for the clutch master cylinder or it shares the brake reservoir. Check under the hood next to you brake master, Too difficult to answer without more info on year, make and model.

1994 1100 shadow, clutch wont disengage, and stuck in gear even when not running

Check if clutch plates are sticky, and check the clutch slave cylinder operation. If plates are sticky, put them in engine oil over night.

The Clutch on some bikes will disengage the starter motor. Yamaha will not allow you to engage gear when the side stand is down. Hope this gives you some idea

Start bike in nutral hold in clutch put into first and imediately stalls

G'Day mate,
Sounds like the bike has a stuck clutch, where the pressure plates and clutch plates are not disengaging, probably from sitting for a while. Check the clutch adjustments first to see that you have good operation and tension in the clutch lever. To break it free, try first allowing the engine to heat up to operating temp, this can sometimes allow the clutch to free up with heat expansion.
If you can get the bike to a rolling start(mate pushing) and get into a gear, go roll on and off the throttle a few times with the clutch pulled in, see if you can break it loose. Some peps have success with wrapping wire about the handle bar holding the lever in, and let it sit over night, let the oil into the clutch plates.
Dont get too carried away with dropping it into gear with the engine running. You dont want to do more damage. If it remains an issue, you will have to remove the clutch cover and tear the clutch down. check plates for wear and warping. Replace if required. Good luck with it.
