SOURCE: cannot replce allen bottom of fork

if you have fork disconnected from triple tree this could be why....you have to have it secured in place or connected back on to the forks to keep it it from rotating as you try to tighten it.

Change front fork oil seals

you need to remove the front wheel then on the bottom of each fork there will be an allen bolt recessed in. slacken this then undo the large bolts at top of forks. remove the brake caliper from fork leg and tie it up, dont just suspend it by the brake line. undo the pinch bolts on the yokes and withdraw each fork leg. continue to remove the allen bolt you slackened, drain the oil out of the legs and then pull the stanchion out of the fork bottom. the seals can now be prised out from the fork bottoms and new seals pushed in. assembly is a reverse of removal

How to replace top front fork seals on a 99 honda cbr 900

If you have never taken your bike front-end off for any type of maintenance, you better get a friend who can show you step by step process, as it requires mtre just taking the fork off the bike once you get into the for to replace the seals and putting the fork oil into it.

Replace fork seals can not get lower nut loose

I assume the forks are already taken out from the braces? If so gently slide them back in and tighten the clamp bolts partially - just enough to prevent the fork tube from turning. Then use teh allen key and remove teh lower nut. Once loose, loosen teh clamp bolts and problem should be solved

Cr125r front forks can not figure out how to get apart to replace seals I have taken off the bike but can not get the inner tube out of the outer fork housing

the inner tube or stansion is released by a allen head bolt, at the bottom of the fork leg ( outer housing) If no bolt there , a spesial tool will be needed to insert into the fork. usually a long rod with a tapered square point or allen bit .this will get the bolt from the inside.
