Cruising at 65-70 mph at 90 + degrees the engine starts to surge like it starving for gas. The service engine light comes on, and the bike just runs horribly. I can nurse it to work at really low speed and keeping the RPMs down. After sitting all afternoon and getting ready to leave work in the evening (10:30 p.m.), the engine light has gone out and the bike runs perfectly in the cooler temperatures. This continues daily if the when it's hot out. The dealership has been unable to fix this problem. Any ideas. Diagnostics shows a low fuel pressure code. But they haven't ridden it during the hottest part of the day when it actually happens to run horribly.

Hi, Check that you have the correct spark plug fitted or fit a new one as it sounds like your plug is getting hot then shorting out.
Sometimes the magnito can do this as well. but I would start with the plug.
SOURCE: speedometer surging. actual speed 40 mph,
Its a loose connection on the speedo cable. its a b*tch to get to. I had the same problem on my truck, it would fluctuate in 5th gear on the highway. i spent the money and had a professional do it.

I would start looking for a vacuum leak. Check all the vacuum lines for cracks or breakage. Spray penetrating fluid on them until you hear the engine start to stumble then focus the spray on that area until you are able to pinpoint the location of the leak. Best of luck,my friend, Dana
