118K Just a couple of days ago, started ticking while accelerating. Will tick anywhere between 10 MPH and 55 MPH. Only ticks while gas pedal is being applied. Will not tick while idle. Oil level fine.
These are known for carbon build up on the valves that cause several problems.this could be the problem as the carbon can cause the valves to stick a bit in the valve guides while its running and show up as a ticking noise with the gas applied.have the top end service done which cleans the fuel system injectors and any carbon build up on the back of the valves.if this gets bad enough it can cause the cam holders to break locking up the motor if the piston hits the valve.another thing to check is oil pressure and the lifters may be worn to the point that they need replacing.check the cam lobes as well if worn these can cause a ticking noise on acceleration.

hi is it miss-firing as it sounds like a knocking noise can be anything but if you can feel it on the accelerater pedal then the noise sounds like its on the inlet valve side which would transfere the noise up the throttle body where the accelerater is located it could be something as simple as a tappet come loose to a burned valve you need to have a look do a compression test and take the rocker cover off see if theres anything come loose yates210456

make sure the battery is fully charged, and then if so, you have a starter that has went out.. you will need to replace it...
also, make sure the battery cables are tight and clean

if noise is higher pitched and coming in on valve time...(2wice for every revolution of motor..ie: faster)...then upper end pressure is down due to sludge, wear , lifter failure, valvespring failure, rocker stud lifting out of cylinder head (kinda common) cam bearings failing (very rare)..oil pump bypass stuck open..and a few other possibilities... respond and we will go over lower end sound (deeper ,slower) and see what identifies your issues .... miles
SOURCE: ticking noise and low oil pressure
DOES IT HAVE A LOT OF MILES ON IT OR MAY BE THE OIL PUMP IS IS GOING OUT? THERE IS A SPRING IN THE PUMP THAT IS A BYPASS FOR HOW HIGH PSI IT MAY HAVE BROKE THAT WILL GIVE YOU LOW PSI.

Okay, lets hope it is something simple. Remove the underhood light bulb. At night, in the dark, start the engine and look under the hood. You may be able to see sparks jumping. This would be bad wires. If you can see where the spark plugs go and one has a spark jumping it is just one bad sparkplug. Turn off car-replace underhood bulb.
If you see no sparks then it is most likely the valve train. If you have adjustable lifters they need someone to tighten them up to specifications. If they are not adjustable you may need to replace worn parts.
Make sure you keep fresh and plenty of oil in the engine. It can not repair worn parts but if the oil is low or dirty you will have bigger problems.
