There could be several reasons why your Daihatsu Terios is consuming too much fuel. Here are some possible causes and remedies.Driving habits: Your driving habits could be the cause of the high fuel consumption. Aggressive driving, speeding, and rapid acceleration can all increase fuel consumption. To remedy this, try driving more conservatively and avoid sudden stops and starts.Tire pressure: Low tire pressure can increase fuel consumption. Make sure your tires are properly inflated to the recommended pressure levels.
Air filter: A dirty air filter can cause the engine to work harder and burn more fuel. Replace your air filter regularly to keep it clean and functioning properly.
Fuel injectors: Dirty or clogged fuel injectors can cause the engine to burn more fuel. Have your fuel injectors cleaned or replaced if necessary.
Oxygen sensor: A malfunctioning oxygen sensor can cause the engine to burn more fuel than necessary. Have your oxygen sensor checked and replaced if needed.
Spark plugs: Worn or dirty spark plugs can cause the engine to run inefficiently and burn more fuel. Replace your spark plugs regularly to keep them functioning properly.
It's important to have your vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic to determine the root cause of the high fuel consumption. By addressing the underlying issue, you can improve your vehicle's fuel efficiency and save money on gas in the long run.

Fuel injector are worn out they. Might be dribbling as a bigger engine it won't stall or flood it raises the idling making you feel it's power but consuming more fuel
it has gotta be the o2 sensor, map sensor, or the mass air flow meter.............. these are the main inputs to the computer that controls the fuel control....let me know how that works out please
The fuel consumption sounds about right for a turbo, perhaps a little high. Hwy consumption depends on how you drive. If you cruise at 100 kph, you should get around 8 L/ 100km. Round town, about 10 L / 100km.
