I am doing the valves on my 2005 kx 250f. on the left side (if sitting on seat) on my intake cam has a very mi-nute groove and on the seat where the cam rides on, is lightly rolled over to create a small burr on the left side. is this a big problem? what could cause this? is there a way to fix it?
SOURCE: i have a 2005 kx 250f backfire and no start
Chances are when the OHC was installed it was one tooth off on the timing. You have spark and gas and the bike is a single cylinder so that is what I would check. Slack in the chain tensioner is what usually creates the problem. All slack should be at the back side of the cylinder.

The Float is sticking making the carb flood. Does it have plastic or metal float in it? should have plastic one
