No power I left my bike on the other day and the battery died. I charged the battery (trickle charger) and the battery is charged. I then checked the fuses and they checked out ok. The bike still has no power when I turn the key. Anybody have any idea what else I can check or what this might be.

Thje battery is still being drained by the computers on board.Try buying a trickle charger when you are not using the battery.My wifes Toyota sypder which I just sold was a 2000 model with 14,000 miles.Again 14,000 miles.I went thru a few batteries till I bought a trickle charger.

It has either a generator or alternator style system. So ya your killing the battery and need to stop that till you fix the generator charging system. Check the fuses and wires for any breaks. May need a new stator or charging controller if the fuses are not the problem. May be even a bad ground wire.

if the bike will not even show power check the main fuse . it"s under the left side cover. if it shows power at key on, then i wonder if you have security. if you do the most common issue is the battery in the fobs. They should be replaced every year.

it sounds like your charging system is out. use your volt meter check the battery charge before you start the bike, it should read about 12 volt, start your bike now, check you meter you should be running about 13.5 volts. rev your bike watch your meter it should spike around 14.5 if your meter jumps up over 15 your reg/rec is not working right, if it drops when you rev the bike you stator is not working. Its always best to replace them as a pair as they work as a pair and bad old part can kill a nice new pricey part if you follow what im saying. the stator is the coil winding that makes a/c power after its made it goes to regulator/ rectifier it's job is take that a/c power and make it d/c (you can only make a/c power and store d/c power) it also regulates the volts around 13.5. see what you got and let me know

sounds like the battery doesn't have enough power.
Battery may be bad, or your charging system is bad.
If the bike was sitting for a while not being ridden (longer than 3 weeks) then the battery is probably dead.
go to a local powersports shop and ask them about a "trickle charger" this is what you plug the bike into when you park the bike for a long time like the winter. You can dfind a cheap charger for about $20. It has to be a trickle charger not a regular battery charger otherwise it could overcharge and the battery could explode or even catch fire. This will keep your battery from dieing everytime you park the bike for an extended period of time.

Were you having trouble with the battery before this incident? If not, then charge the battery with a charger...NOT a trickle charger...for 12 hours. After this, check the voltage with a volt-ohm meter, it should read 12v -14v. Install in the bike, connect and check it again with the volt-ohm meter, it should hold the same reading as off the bike.

Try to start the bike, if it starts, check the battery again, now it should read 14v or a little more. Turn everything off and try to start it again. If it starts, the battery is still good but don't leave it on like that anymore.

If you get anything less than 12v after ther charge, the battery most likely has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.

sounds like a charging system. same thing happens with cars when the alternator goes kaput. so i would say check your charging system weather it be an alternator or generator.

If your battery become too dead the trickle charger wont recognize the battery so it wont charge it. However in that case you just need hook two batteries together to even the charge so it will recognize it. if your battery is truly charged then its a loose wire somewhere or bad switch.

with the lights on for well over a week. (in my locked garage incase your wondering why I still have a bike) Needless to say the battery is dead. It's been on a trickle charger since Sunday afternoon (now Tuesday afternoon) and it still indicates charging. We did try it in the bike anyways and no go. Do you think I killed it? The dealership told me it might take a good 2-3 days to charge it back up if I didn't kill it. The battery is 3 months old.... should I just go out a buy a new battery at this point? Ahhh....lessons learned the hard way. Slap a trickle charger with a float on it and see what happens. No way to find out how bad it is until you try to fix it. And draining then charging a battery is one of the worst things you can do to it. Personally, I couldn't stand not riding for 3 days, so I'd buy a new battery anyways. But that's just me.,,,
