By fuel tap i take it you mean to select between the reserve tank, and to switch the fuel off... on from 'new shape' models (2006 onwards) there is no switch: it has a vaccum system which sucks any unused fuel back into the tank..

when the fuel light comes on the 'reserve tank' is in use, so go fill up with some juice!

The fuel tap is located on the left hand side of the tank, just about where your left knee is. Turn fully anti-clockwise is off, from there turn half way, pointing up is on, and fully turned clockwise is fuel reserve. not much in the reserve but enough to get home or petrol station.

    ok mate thank you for your help also the choke is it up for offand there is 2 down movements is that right i only had the bike a few weeks and not rode it yet been doing it up some again thank you very much

I would think soshould be located under the tank between the carb and the tank on the fuel line somewhere.,

Flat spot when starting off on aprilia rs 125
they are a bit like that anyway mate because of the useless dellorto carb they use but what will make t worse is if the powervalve is either set fully open or if it is stuck open,check if it has a servo/actuator or if it just has a bolted in powervalve blade.the valve is behind the radiator on the top front of the barrel just above the exhaust manifold where it bolts to the barrel.

Just bought Aprilia RS125 had a new barrel and piston fitted a week ago but when first started keeps cutting out. Cant even restart it now. Any suggestions. Have cleaned plugs and carb.
If it cranks over easily, normally, then I would suspect the spark, but if it won't spin over, somebody got something too tight. Did you check the oil? How about the mechanic, did he oil up the new piston? How about the fuel? Fuel pump? Choke stuck on, was the timing set? Does it have an overhead cam? Check the belt? Check the timing again. Then go to the coils. Run/kill button, kick stand switch, is it stuck in gear? Check this stuff out.
