SOURCE: Yamaha Virago XV700 - 1987 Seat Removal

Most Yamaha models have 2 bolts holding the seat on, usually located between the top shock mounts and the side covers. You should be able to find them without too much trouble, but remember- they are metric. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: needle n seat adjustment yamaha virago 920

Hello dnjvp...The Hitachi HSC 40mm carbs on the 920 can be jetted and modded as needed to give you the right mixture for any engine or exhaust modifications.
Here is the breakdown for the slide and the internal parts. Check the needle for wear, clean all parts and put back together. Make sure you hold the diaphragm up to the light and check for pinholes. If any are found use a sealer like to fix.

Good luck...i hope this helps.

SOURCE: How can I remove the rear seat of a Yamaha Virago

The rear seat is held in place with a single bolt near the rear of the seat. This bolt is normally a socket head type (you use an allen key to remove it), is near the centre of the rear fender and also usually holds the rear rack or grab bar in place. Once the bolt is removed you may need to shift the rear of the seat sideways one way or the other in order that the tab on the seat clears the grab bar or luggage rack. The front end of the rear seat is secured under a tab so after removing the single bolt, simply slide the seat toward the back of the bike and it will come free.

How to remove seat on 1998 yamaha virago 1100?

Put the key in the seat lock (helmet lock). turn one way to open the helmet lock, turn the other to unlock the seat. Pull up on the seat at the same time. On old bikes, sometimes the cable that releases the seat (connected to the lock latch) gets stuck/rusted. Then you have to decide how important it is to remove the seat. Seat may have to be replaced if you cannot reach under to trip the latch or pull the cable with a hook or screwdriver (crochet hook sometimes works if long and sturdy - and you can pry the seat up enough to see what is going on down there).
