What relay do ihave to earth to get the engine to fire up.i have earthed the starter relay and the fuel pump relay but cant get a spark .have a ford dealer disk but not a lot of information their as only block diagram and any further information i need to use a dealer id to get into it.original fault ,battery went flat with car left for 3 mths without the battery being disconnected.i have removed the stupid boy racer alarm that was fitted but still cant get the thing to start as no spark ,power into coil pack all three wires but this ford disk just shows a block diagram with a numbers but the numbers will not show the location or the wiring diagram of whats inside the ECU or PCM .so if anyone knows where to run a earth wire to make it start ??pretty please ,and as for a haynes manual ?? failing which when i get time i will remove the fuse /relay board and follow the wiring and find the correct relay it will not beat me buts its the time factor so if anyone knows please post or e mail me [email protected].. pretty please
Changed to firefox lost that dammed 2009 antivirus stuff now.kept cutting me out on every stroke of keyboard.now where was i ??yes this fault was caused by car being left with battery connected.get it a lot here as its a holiday area and cars get left whilst owners in uk.battery slowly died and alarm cut in ,,now as we all know and that is the dealers like the golden egg and these people get taken big time.this escort is no exemption the dealer wants about 200€ to restart vehicle plus breakdown truck and their are a lot of these cars about now diesel is no problem but a petrol one i dont know about i have earthed the starter solonoid and fuel pump solenoid but what do i have to earth for the spark.also if anyone reads this what about the latest renaults with that stupid card thing,is it possible to by-pass the alarm system on these?? local renault garage loves the english with these pieces of junk .just look at the dammed things and immobiliser cuts in.lowest bill here was 220€ but more often than not its on average of 500+ € by the time the computer will not start the car because of fault number ???? ,and new plastic air connector fitted 220€ + labour + + + +this that and another.keep away from renaults dammed froggy rubbish give these cars the agincourt sign
Sounds like your crank position sensor is dead, your wires to the coil will have power but nothing will come out of the coil. The flywheel has a toothed plate fastened to it with one tooth missing, when the missing tooth passes by the crank position sensor , (CPS), it sends a signal to the computer located under your radio in the car and lets the coil know when to fire, if the CPS is bad you will still have power to every single wire in the car, just no fire. Also if it was wired with an alarm system it has an interupter wired into your wiring harness either under the dash or in the engine compartment, it should be pretty easy to spot because it with have cheap connectors and a crappy tape job where it was patched in.

i have read through your escort imobilizer bypass, post and i have a simalar problem! did you manage to get the car running in the end? i got cranking and fuel but no spark. is the bridge on the ecu for the ignition and if so do you have a clearer pic?

how to hotwire a ford escort and bypass the factory immobiliser.Well i done it in the end and it was dead simple but its a bit beyond the average weekend mechanic,firstly earth one side of the supply for the starter relay fuse box left hand side middle row ,the two smaller connectors find pos then earth other side.now the fuel relay front row right hand side smallish borwn colour ,sorry it could be green or red but iam colour blind.Same thing here the two thin connectors find the pos and earth other side .Now the tricky bit i will try to take a picture later if i can find my camera,take the covers off the ECU unit and turn it over circuit board up ,first transistor/cjip has about 8 connections ,the next one along has 3 connections ---join the two outer legs together ,ie solder a connection across the connections and MAGIC .Dammed dealer wanted 200€ minium to look at it then the **** ,well maybe a new unit 850€ plus labour and all the tech stuff trying to balls **** me ,i didnt do six long years at college for sweet nothing and 40 yrs in the trade up to my neck in **** and diesel oil to be taken by a bill gates look alike nerd.I will take some pics when i can find that camera,honest its so easy when you get into it.FEELING LIKE A PRIZE PEACOCK STRUTTING AROUND ,i beat them
turn circuit board over so your looking at printed circuit back view,left hand side ,first transistor with three legs from the wiring connection block ,solder the outside legs together with a bridge wire
dont know if you you can see but their is two black wires leading from the relays,and the link i soldered to the circuit board left hand side
