Hi, I have a Kawasaki zxr 750 j1 it rides and runs smooth but it sticks at 10,000 rpm is this normal or is there a limiter restrictor? how can I take it off if there is so? when it gets to 10,000 rpm it feels like it wants to go more but just doesn't @

Hello, What is the redline on the tachometer? Exceeding the factory redline WILL NOT get you any more power!! In fact you lose power after the factory redline!!
If it will not rev freely to the factory redline in 3 or 4th gear ,, you have other problems!! Take it to a professional!!

SOURCE: MY YZ250 WONT REV PAST 3/8 THROTTLE. I NEED HELP!!

It does sound like an ignition timing problem, but could also be a breathing issue, air flow in or exhaust flow out could be restricted i.e.:dirty air filter, excessive carbon build up in exhaust pipe from burning too much oil or rich fuel mixture.
possibly and more likely some junk got into your fuel system and partially plugged up the main jet in the carb, -or has the needle on the slide been moved? The little circlip at the top of the needle, if it has one.
1.Replace the spark plug, check gap, check spark, it should be bright blue and fat.
2. check the fuel filter, if no filter check the carb for dirt.

SOURCE: Wont rev past 3/8 throttle!! I NEED HELP.

could be. I had a 91 kx 250 that was acting crazy and it turned out to be the stator and cdi box. you can check the stator easly with a omes meter but the cdi box is nearly impossible to check. you pretty much have to buy a new one and try it. also check to see if your power valve is working.

SOURCE: GSXR 750 Slingshot wont rev past 5000rpm, with or without choke

I have seen this before a few things to do too make sure. First take the air filter out and shine a light use your fingers to move the slides up and down I suspect the springs that go on the slide is not seated in center you can tell from the slide going halfway and hanging up. Next, the boots on the slides only go on 1 way there is a notch on the carbs for them. I would guess this would fix you up if not we can get deeper into it with air-fuel mix screw settings.good luck

Sounds like you need some plugs and the carbs cleaned and synchronized.

I have a ZXR 750, 2003 model, love the bike plenty. but the governor at 8000 rpm is a huge disapointmrnt. what to do?

You can upgrade to a non rev limited cdi or get a bypass for the rev limiter that is on the bike now, they can be found online by searching for rev limiter bypass for your particular bike...

I have a 1992 zxr750 at first it started boging out afetr about 30 mins of riding did it again the other day now wont even start unless choke is on and even then it sounds like its running rough as

Maybe the choke once on is not turning off fully? When running and you stick choke on in normal circumstances, it gets all "stally" doesn't it? Found my cable simply sticking choke half on on my zx7r.

Zxr 750 j1 replace front wheel

Not much to say other than...... after my nightmare I made the decision to always throw bearings on if wheel coming off! MAy as well. Other than that, simple 3 bricks each side of forks, patience knocking spindle out and grease when knocking it back in. If struggling, consider how it handles on cornering too? Is your spindle running concentric - not bent? That why its tough to get out? Not sure if you're asking for details how to do the job or whether struggling to get it out? Not an expert just got zx7r.

Bought a zxr 750 j1 to use as a track bike. It came with a full Micron race system on it. I had my first track day on sat. When coming out hairpin onto straight it seemed to have a lack of power/bog down...

hi,this might help,i race a 750 gsxr same sort of problem, the carbs will definitly need to be rejetted i had to go up 30 sizes to fix mine, also lift the needles in the carbs this will give a richer mix right through the rev range,it will use more fuel but hey ,they still make the stuff,re your 3 cyl problem,i would start with the simple things first, check or swap your spark plugs out for a new set and see if it still does it,while you have the plugs out check the cylinder compressions, what you describe could also be a faulty coil,it will be a process of ellimination to track the fault down...hope this helps...cheers

I have been offered a zxr 750 1992 the one with the two pipes that go over the tank which model is this thanks paul

I had a G reg one of those .That was an H1 model. that would be 1989/1990 . There was an H2 model the next year followed J1 & J2 models then K1 etc. I reckon that makes yours a J2 .The paintwork tends to bear that out too. It took Kawasaki all those years to sort the rear suspension out !! Hope this helps. Barry

Hi, my zxr 750starts and runs fine, however when i open the throttle the engine dies (bogs down)and doesnt pul at all, ive changed feul filter

This sounds like the carbs need cleaned. The main jet is not allwoing enough fuel through when you rev it up so it bogs until you let off the throtle and it will catch up again.

Dead battery after a long ride

Yes, it could be the regulator. Running a battery flat MAY kill it, so try to recharge it and then load test it. Put a fully charged battery in the bike. Hook up a voltmeter and start the bike. Rev engine to about 3-4000 rpm. If your regulator is working you should be getting about 14v. If the reading does not change from what it was before you started the bike, your charging system is not working. Do test the parts before you simply replace them.
