SOURCE: Engine skips, won't go over 55 mph. Works fine below that.

Hi ..... Go through the above list, pay particular attention to fuel delivery ie blocked breather in tank, any filter fitted to tap or change in line filter if fitted. Easy to check, take off fuel delivery to carb (place container to catch fuel), start bike and fuel should come out a strong contant flow.
Let us know how you get on.

SOURCE: 1989 tw200 yamaha won't start

G'day egdbcs . Ok.now lets see.You say good spark,so i'm presuming you are doing the old sight test.Try bending the arm on a know good sparkplug about 5-6mm,earth the plug and kick'er in the guts(crank it over)Be very carefull , high voltage danger. If there's still a good spark it's safe to say that there will also be a good spark under pressure in the combustion chamber, speaking of which you should also do a compression test, anything over 100psi should be ok. as i'm not to sure of the extent of the re-build,hopefully the valves were lapped and checked for straight and true and valve seals replaced,if you notice oil on the tip of the spark plug you could have a leaking valve seal or oil seal .Try putting a small amount of fuel directly into the combustion chamber ,tighten up the spark plug ,install the plug cap and.......Yeah ..You guessed it ..."kicker in the guts".If all the abouve are correct and true it should fire up.If it runs for 5-10 seconds then stops you've got some sort of fuel starvation problem , could be dirt in the carb, blocked idle jet ,or air passage or even the needle could have come off it's clip, believe me with an old bike like yours anything could be worn and loose inside that carby. The only other thing to consider is the timing. There may be a good spark but is it happening at the right time inside the engine???. I'll leave it all in your capable hands EGDBCS.Hope this helps to solving your worries. Chow for now......Tilleydog..

SOURCE: 94 GSXR 750 DIED WHILE RIDING AND WILL CRANK BUT NOT START

There may not be an in-line fuel filter on the bike. Most bikes don't come with them. Yes, the fuel petcock has two screen filters on one pipe and they can get clogged up. Remove the tank then remove the petcock and clean it. The gas in the tank should be dumped into a clear plastic storage bin so that you can see if there is any water in the gas as well as rust and trash. Your bike is 15 years old and the inside of the tank may be rusty. If so, Google kreem fuel tank liner “ or go to

www.http://www.4secondsflat.com/Fuel_Tank_Sealer.html

This will end the rust problem. Go ahead an install an in-line fuel filter. There is a drain plug on the lower left side of each carb. Drain each carb into a clear container and look for water and trash. You may need to clean the carbs but hold off to see if the other stuff fixes the problem.

Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock.

SOURCE: Bogs down at 50 mph or over

this is an air intake problem check the air filter is clean also check air filter is the same model as original as some air filters require a carb retune to function properly

SOURCE: Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..

Where are the spark plugs located on a 2003 suzuki intruder motorcycle 800cc.

Follow the spark plug wires, you will find them. they are in the heads of the bike, somewhere, probably buried in a well, with the plug wire coming out. Check it out.

I have a 1999 suzuki intruder 800cc the engine cuts out going down the road and the lights flicker on and off already check the connections on the battery thought it was that because i changed the battery...

Hi, you have a loose connection there somewhere, some times can be difficult to find. You say you checked the battery, thats the first place to start. Now you just have to continue from the battery, remove your seat and side covers if you need to more access to wires and fuses.
Start from the + wire on your battery, and follow it for as long as you can, checking every connection along the way. Example, from your battery, it goes to the starter soliniod, could be loos there?
Anyway, its just a matter of following the wires until you find the loose one. It's there some where!
Good luck

What is the oil capacity in the crankcase of a 1993 800cc intruder. How much do you fill it too? I stuck my finger in and got no oil and there is no measure dip to tell.

holds 3 us quarts of oil with a oil filter change or if the egine was complety drained after overhaul it takes 3 1/2 us quarts of oil.
To check oil look for a small quarter size window on the clutch case, oil level should fill half the window to be full.Bike must be held level while viewing window, not on kick stand.
