SOURCE: i have fuel in crank case in 1996 road king

Usually when you find gasoline in your crankcase it's because your carburator is leaking fuel into the cylinder heads. From there it goes into the cylinders on top of the pistons. Down past the rings into the crankcase. If enough gasoline goes in there, it will go past the sprocket shaft seal and into the primary case as well.

This is normally caused by a bit of trash getting under the float valve in the carburator. But, on a 1996 model, there is supposed to be a vacuum operated petcock. The petcock is supposed to close whenever there is no vacuum on it that is supplied from the intake manifold. Either the petcock has been changed, which is not unusual since the petcocks were quite troublesome, or it is not working properly.

First, you need to clean out the carb. and get any trash out from under the float valve. Remove the carb from the engine. Take the float bowl off the bottom of the carb. Pull the pin out that holds the floats and remove them and the float needle valve. Blow compressed air through the fuel inlet fitting to clean any trash out of the fuel valve seat. Inspect the needle valve for damage, replace if necessary. Reassemble and reinstall the carburator. Check for proper operation prior to starting the engine.

With the carb cleaned, you can install either an aftermarket manual petcock (Pingel) or a Harley petcock for a 1994 or prior model. These are manual petcocks. When you're not riding your bike, turn the petcock to the "OFF" position. Also, install a fuel filter in your fuel line between the tank and the carb. Get one of the good ones with the scintered metal filters in it.

Change your oil and filter. Check your primary oil as well. Change it if contaminated with gasoline. Before you reinstall your air filter, connect the fuel line to the carb and turn the gas on. Closely watch the inside of the carb throat to see if fuel starts to "bubble up" into the throat of the carb. This usually takes a few minutes so be patient. If it does, you need to replace the float valve needle with a new one and check the float setting. If it doesn't "bubble up" you're good to go. Then, don't forget to turn your petcock to the "OFF" position when you quit riding the bike.

SOURCE: What oil should i put in my 1997 Yamaha FZR600?

Just use the better known brands like Shell, Mobil, Pennzoil, Quaker State, etc.. Do not get the ones with "Special" additives. NEVER use synthetics. Some of the additives and most of the synthetics will swell the cork on the clutch friction plates. Then the clutch will not disengage. Other synthetics can be too slick and cause the clutch to slip. Use 10w40 motor oil and you are doing good.

For the manual, try www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp

They have over 1300 manuals for free download. It may take 20 seconds or so to build the entire list. They show your model but you can't be sure of the year without doing a download. By the way, The service procedures are the same '96 to '97.

SOURCE: oil leeking from cover on right side

Clutch plate cover? Dealer for seals unless the cover is damaged. There are a number of motorcycle junkyards through-out US that would have a cover. Laydowns are hard on case covers.

Oil capacity on 1996 royal star

3.9 quarts, but everyone says to use 3.5 quarts and check the oil window on the right side of the crank case. You'll have to lay down and probably need a flashlight to read it. Giving credit to a post dated July 30, 2010 on this site that gives great details on oil and coolant changes by "anonymous".

How much oil do i put in my 2004 yamaha yz250 2 stroke?

35 to 1 for fuel oil mix. if u r talking about crank case, i think 2 quarts, if there is a sight glass on side of cover, it should be right in center when bike is upright. If no sight and no leaks, just measure what you take out an add the exact same.

Replacing the oil filter

Firstly drain the oil from the crank case (it's an Allan bolt at the bottom on the left hand side). when it's completely empty of oil on the right hand side of the crank case bang in the middle of it you'll find a round chrome cover remove that and the oil filter is there.

I have an oil leak on my 2001 yz250 2stroke coming form right side of the motor where the cover is for the power valve linkage rod/ water impellar cover.i have replaced all the water pump seals and...

sounds like the crankcase breathing hose, and yes the crank case may be over filled with oil and it is overflowing. Or the oil seals may be bad and in need of replacement. Check proper oil level first and go from there.
