SOURCE: Removal of factory seat on Yamaha Royal star 1300

Hi, It opens with your key on the right side as looking from the front of the bike. Keep the key turned and pull straight up on the back of the seat. There is a tab on the front right behind the tank, so when you are putting it back make sure that tab goes into the slot first. Wow, when you get the seat off you will also find your emergency tool bag! I have royal star tour classic #41. Good Luck!

SOURCE: 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Drive Shaft (?) Howl

This is a safety issue. Ever flew over the handlebars at 60 miles per hour because the back wheel locked up? It sounds like a serious lack of lubrication. Take the wheel assembly apart and see what is going on. If in doubt, have the dealer look at it. Any product recalls on your bike? Check it out.

If it wont do anything then it is likely that youve popped a fuse
But it sounds like the battery isnt being charged properly. Make sure the voltage across the batt terminals is at least 13.5v at tickover rising to no more than 15.5v at higher revs

SOURCE: Front speakers on my 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Motorcycle

I had this problem on one of my bikes and found that I had a bad ground. Wires can be broken inside the insulation. An ohm meter can be used for that. Do a continuity check on the wiring.

What could be causing an annoying squeek in my 2012 Avalanche LS?

This is one of those issue where you need to do a bit of detective work. Start with a good clean out of the vehicle including down between the seat pads, in all the door pockets and under the seats. I had a friend with a strange rattling noise that turned out to be a pen on the dashboard vibrating when the car was idling.
When EXACTLY does it "squeak"? is it a long stretched out noise, a repeating noise or one squeak every so often? Does it happen as you accelerate away from a stop or slow down to a stop? Do you hear it when you hit potholes? Does it squeak when you press the brake pedal?
One way to test for a squeak is to rock it. You might need a helper for this. Park the vehicle with the park brake On. Stand at the side of the vehicle with your hands on the top edge of the body and push hard. Get the truck rocking side to side as hard as you can to get the suspension working. This is one method to check whether the suspension is the noise.

How do I change the battery in royal star

Most Royal Stars (since you gave no year or which Royal Star model you have) have the battery located under the seat and most Royal Stars use the key lock located on the lower left side (as you sit on the bike) near the seat to unlock the seat and lift off. Pushing down on the seat to turn the key in the seat lock makes it easier to turn the key.The battery usually has just a rubber strap to hold it in place.

I have 2007 Range Rover HSE Sport with a rear suspension squeak.

Squeaks come from metal movement and can be hard to trace. If there has been a suspension rebuild using aftermarket springs then the diameter of the spring material will be bigger than original. This reduces the inside diameter of the spring and this in turn doesn't allow the spring to sit properly on the mount pad. Check for rust signs at the base /top of the springs and ensure that the springs have clearance inside . Next if polyurethane bushes have been used in the suspension mounts this will be a source of noise as it will not flex and any movement will produce a noise. Noise is from dry so look for telltale rust marks to identify the part that is moving when it should not be

Squeak coming from rear of car could it be brakes?

Any noise to be identified need a perfect OBSERVATION of the spot of generation. Have the test drive with someone at the wheels while you confirm the spot - front or rear. now touch the brakes to see if the noise cuts off or increases. Now push the car vigorously up and down to check the suspension. If noise is heard it can be the suspension. Now it will be good to have the car up a ramp to have a first hand check on the suspension, the links, the bushes. make sure there is no metal touching the mudguards/ Tyre's.
Now jack up the rear wheel one by one and turn them to hear any squeaking. if so remove tyre and wheel assembly to clean and reset the assembly.
If not the rear suspension links /bushes/ shock-absorbers must be removed and reset.

When I am driving it is a rattling squeak, going to replace rear struts this week, see if the noise improves.

Hi:
You are probably on the right track , replacing your struts, but it would also be a good idea to have a passenger help you locate the area of the squeak. Have them sit in the various other seats with the window down, and try to pinpoint which corner is the worst. You might have a suspension bushing causing the problem too. If your passenger narrows down the source, change either both front struts or both rear, never just one!

Adjust spring preload

There are no preload, compression or rebound adjustments on either end of a 1996 Royal Star. The front fork characteristics can be changed by internal modifications to the front fork piston and a change in fork oil weight (stock is 5W), lengthening the spacers immediately beneath the cap bolt, or addition of progressive springs. The rear shock absorber assembly is a unit with no serviceable parts, no modifications are practical. The only aftermarket suspension parts I've found for the 1996-1998 Royal Stars are kits offered by Hyperpro (ECM), they list kits for the front forks SP-YA13-SSA05 and the rear SP-YA13-SSB05; however, since the rear kit is purported to fit all years from 1996 to the present, and the rear suspension was redesigned for the 2002 model year, I suspect that you may find that the rear kit doesn't work at all.
