Just brought a fzr 600 and found that i have a problem when i select 1st or 2nd gear the bike jumps forward and then cuts out "as if you released the clutch leaver fast". i do know that the bike had been stored in the owners garage for the last year but in that time he had moved the bike in and out of the garage to start the bike up every sunday morning to make sure the engine keeps running nicely. could this still result in a stuck friction plates and if so how can i release it with out taking the clutch apart (no tools or knowledge for rebuilding clutch) any help would be greatful thank you

You have a bent shift fork. To replace the fork the engine will need to be removed then torn completely down to about 75 different parts in order to replace the bad fork. This is not a do-it-yourself kind of job. Some special tools are needed and you need to know what you are looking for. I hate to be the bearer of the bad news, but that's what is going on.
The engine isn't fixed, but I hope you can rate this solution as a " FixYa" to the nature of the problem. Thanks!
SOURCE: tzr 125 1989/clutch ok.but when you start the bike
most bikes have a neutral switch, which lights up neutral light on dash, or even to allow bike to turn over starter.you need to find it on the bike and check it, it may be shorting, or loose.
SOURCE: engine cuts when selecting 1st gear
disconnect side stand switch to check if that is faulty
Testimonial: "thanks, was faulty wiring. Replaced & Cleaned Push Switch. All Fine Regards"
SOURCE: I have a 98 yamaha
This sounds like the clutch has gone out and needs to be replaced, it is very unlikely for the shift fork to get bent on these bikes.
