Sounds like you have a sort in the electrics, check the connections and the bulb holder on the back lighting, and the wiring under the seat.

SOURCE: headlight wont work all other lights good

A couple of ideas off the top of my head:

  1. I believe the headlight has a dedicated fuse. If it fails, all the other lights continue to work.
  2. High/low relay fuse? See http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-streetbikes-sportbikes/78673-zx7-headlights-wont-turn-95-zx7.html
  3. Occasionally, the headlights will appear to have failed if the starter button sticks, since pressing the starter button kills the lights to direct more battery power to the starter. WD-40 is the short term cure for this.
My two cents, hope it helps.

SOURCE: Ignition light on ,horn works ,indicators work will not start

Check your fuse then try again. Do not forget to check your main fuse- the ribbon type (30Amp)

My 2005 matrix keeps blowing 15amp rear running light fuse every time light get turned on all other lights work fine.whats causing this?

fuses blow because of dead shorts or excess current draw
to blow a 15 amp fuse indicates a dead short
by disconnecting the rear lights , the problem is in something else you have replaced
could be a problem in the head light wiring

Corolla 2006- both driving headlights dont work, dims work. brights work if lever is pulled back, bulbs have been tested .wiring appears to be fine . all other lights, indicators are fine. car is drive

as positioning the lever in certain positions allows the lights to work then the problem will most likely be in the light switch itself. Replace the light switch unit.

Headlight switch on makes tail light dim

there must be a short circuit which powers tail lights and brake lights. probably you have a dual filament bulbs which have both brake and tail light together. check for bulb, socket/or bulb housing and harness of that light.

Both dipped headlights are not working, does'nt seem like a faulty fuse.

Welcome to FixYa.com

Check with a test light at the head light switch for power. If there is power. go to Headlight Relay.

The headlights only work on Bright. The dim

If the low beam head light relay is fine, and the dimmer switch checks out fine, then look at the out put wire from the dimmer switch to the head light relay, check for voltage, then check the relay to see if it energizes. Then follow the wire(out put)from the relay to the head light. Now if power from the dimmer is getting to the relay, but the relay is not energizing, look for a bad relay,or bad relay ground wire.

Low beam headlights do not work, but high beam headlights do

Clyde,

I've been troubleshooting this same problem on a different vehicle this week, and I can give you the steps I'd take.

1. If both sides went out at the same time, the problem is *NOT* likely to be the bulbs.

2. Check the fuses to see if both low beam lights are on the same fuse. Many cars have one fuse for low beam and another for high beam, so both lights out at the same time typically means fuse blown.

3. If the headlights are OK and the fuses are OK, then the problem is *LIKELY* the headlight switch. In my case, AutoZone has one and it can be installed easily; but in your case, that may not be as simple.

Please post your findings or comments.
