Hey bud, i know this might be a bit late but sounds like the starter chain tensioner has failed and the gears have vbeen stripped. dont try to start thebike. take the clutch casing off, and that chain and sprocket assembly infront of u is the offending part. google a guy called andy bennett for a manual chain tensioner. replace thes parts with zzr1100 parts as they are stronger. once youve researched and done all that. take the sump off and give it a bloody good clean. then re-assemble and away u go. u can do all this without taking the engine out the chassis. exhaust off, oil cooler off, radiator off. hope this helps. feel free to cantact me. kiltednutter (facebook)

SOURCE: starter motor

Check the battery is fully charged for a start. Secondly i would test the starter solenoid usually found under the seat, it is identified as a square box with 2 large leads and 2 smaller wires. one of the large leads go down to starter, the other goes up to battery. very carefully cross these out, ensuring the bike is in NEUTRAL before hand. The engine should turn. If all this still fails, replace starter.

SOURCE: engine will not start, carbs cleaned, but will not fire, no petrol

Check the carb diaphrams for any tears/pinholes? (They are on the top of the carbs) Have you reconnected the breather from the tank? Is fuel getting past fuel tap? Sometimes the vent in the fuel cap can get blocked with crud and create a vacuum which stops fuel flowing.

Kenmore 90 plus series washer won't spin, barely agitates, will drain - but makes loud noise

It sounds like the transmission is done. Can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but I would start there.

My Kenmore 80 series washer won't spin, and it just makes a loud gear grinding noise. What could this be, and how do I fix, in the simplest form please I'm chick... :)

rebecca it is probably the motor coupler. Move or slide ur machine over and if there is ruber filings under it then it is the coupler.

The washer filled up with water but not won't drain spin and is making a funny noise . It's an older magic chef.

The most common issue would be the coupler for the motor transmission. It is a rubber coupling and when it goes bad it makes a grinding, or whirring noise and the machine won't spin or wash. You need to remove the cabinet and look directly under the tub where the motor and tranny connect. This is a reletivly easy and cheap fix. Just google how to replace motor coupling on a top load washer and you may also include your make and model for more direct instructions.

82 GPZ 750 R1 w/ mac 4/1 exhaust Will the lack of exhaust gaskets affect compression?

No

But it will affect how well it idles and reduce your torque due to a lack of back pressure.
