The spring in the clutch basket makes the pivot getting back to is free play place.. you may remove the right side clutch cover and remove pressure plate to figured it out what hapens there... or you may have the bering from the pivot arm jammed or something with it...

SOURCE: bike stays in gear with clutch in

You are saying that with the clutch lever pulled in the bike still wants to go forward. Generally that is caused by dirty, gritty oil in the gearbox. Go ahead and change the oil. 10w40 motor oil is what you want. I think that will fix the problem assuming the clutch plates were installed properly. The first plate installed and the last plate installed should be a fiber friction plate, 8 plates total. A metal pressure plate goes between each fiber plate, 7 plates total.

Be sure the lever assembly arm is installed so that it gets full movement of the clutch cable. If the full range of movement is not present then full disengagement of the clutch is not going to happen.

No, this is a clutch problem. I love these bikes, wish I still had mine. Need new cable and probably clutch plates. It's very easy to change the clutch. If you get stuck email me at [email protected] and I'll talk you through it.

Hi
Both seized.
For the gas tap, spray CRC lube on it, leave for an hour then gently use grips to move it.
For the clutch, need to know if its the cable or interanl clutch. Disconnect cable from engine and try, if OK its internal. If its clutch cable remove from bike and try to spray / fill cable and leave elevated for and hour / day. Then start see sawing cable to free up.

Clutch slipping

Clutch plates are probably toasted. Drain the oil, remove the cover where the clutch cable goes into and check them out. Not hard to replace but you do need a special tool to get the plates off/on.

How do I install the clutch release shaft on a KX 125?

The clutch arm where the cable connects is on the left and it connects to the clutch via a shaft that pushes a rod which then pushes a ball bearing sitting in the holder and then the holder pushes the clutch operating plate to dis-engage the clutch. The only seal is on the clutch arm shaft that goes into the casing. At worst, only the springs on the operating plate would need to be removed then a 1/4" inward push on the rod from the right side would give clearance for the shaft to be inserted.
