SOURCE: 1999 Yamaha Vstar 650 Custom ...makes clicking noise when trned

i use a jump box on mine most weekends when i wanna take it out, i hook the red to battery and black onto my exhaust and it fires right up no problem. is the clicking noise coming from the fuel pump behind the ignition? it should click for a few seconds then stop. if it stays on then you are not getting enough fuel outta the tank, change the fuel filter and if bike had been stored for winter get a good fuel system cleaner, additive type. if in USA get Berrymans B12, double dose get bike to run hopefully let it stand overnight and all should be fine. fingers crossed. if is is clicking from somewhere else like starter or a relay by the battery, check all the ground terminals you can find

SOURCE: Rejetting a Yamaha Vstar 650

No it will not. You probably don't NEED to rejet at all. If the manufacturer suggests it for your bike and pipe combination I would follow their advice. If they do not suggest it I would use a dyno to get the best performance from your new setup. Keep in mine your new exhaust only lowers the back pressure. You haven't changed the intake parameters at all as far as airflow. So any additional air going into the cylinders due to your new exhaust will only be because of the reduced volume in the cylinder while the intake valve is open. This is a rather small amount, so don't get all crazy and jump several jet sizes at once.

SOURCE: where is the oil filter on my yamaha V-star 1100

On the right side of the bike (right side when ou are sitting on it) just above the rear brake lever behind a small circular plate. remove the plate and the oil filter is inside (you will easily see it). Warning---on these bikes you have to drop the front exhaust header and right floor board in order to change the oil filter unless you install a after market oil filter relocation kit. If you plan on changing your own oil it is highly recommended to install this relocation kit.

SOURCE: where is oil filter located on 650 v-star yamaha

The oil filter is on the right side
under a cover with 3 screws in it.
Remove the covers and replace the filter
and the o-ring on the cover.
Watch which way it goes in
when removing it.

How many engine oil quarts require my vstar classic 650 for its first change

New oil (5 US quarts, 20w40, for motorcycles with wet clutches. Despite the bike, this does NOT generally include V-Twin oil, which is designed for bikes with separate engine and transmission oil, typically. This can greatly effect clutch and transmission efficiency and functionality.)
