I bought a 1983 Suzuki RM 250, I put a new stater on it because it wouldnt fire. so now it fires when i coast start it, but it bogs down when i give it gas and dies within 3-5 seconds... so I took the carb off and boiled it and got a bunch of stuff out of it, put it back together, coast started it again and it did the same thing. I dont know what i need to do now?
Hey Cody,
>>> DO NOT "BOIL" a carburetor... that is NOT HOW YOU CLEAN A MOTORCYCLE CARBURETOR!!!!!!!! That is an old school, RED - NECK, backyard, UNQUALIFIED way to ATTEMPT to clean a carburetor!!!!
Take the carburetor to a QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL motorcycle mechanic and have him clean and set your carburetor!!!!

better check for the ignition coil for proper sparking or igniting of current in the comprssion chamber, check the ignition coil spark plug wire, check the spark plug, check for proper fuel supply in the flow system to Carbs, check for Ignition timing of the bike, or still you cant solve or still worried then dont worry better take the bike to nearest aurhorised Suzuki service centre for better assistance on this problem surely the problem will be solved.

There is no engine oil. You put two stroke oil in a separate tank and it gets pumped into the engine depending on how fast the engine turns.

Could be a bad coil, coil wire or module. The module converts the pulses of the stator so the coil knows when to spark. Bad coil = no spark. Bad coil wire = no spark to plug.

Hello. It will require some frame modification for this engine to fit and function properly but it is doable. Joe

You will need to boil the carb out, you have plugged jets somewhere.
