Is the van rear wheel drive?
Same transmission, same configuration? If they are, call your local salvage/junk yard. Some friendly guy there can check the Hollander Interchange Manual to see if it's a direct swap (that's about all the manual tells-yes or no, on a direct swap). If it's yes, clear sailin' for YOU! But if it's a no, you will have to find the differences to see if it's still a feasable venture. (I wanna know, too.) Several things come to mind: is gearing the same for same final drive ratio? Electronic shift points the same, same computer hookups, (the '97 would be OBD II) Can you incorporate the controls into your suburb? I hope you find an answer.

The E means that it is electronic and has a transmission control module. That module is matched to the transmission and the ECM. It wont work;.

97 GMC suburban: On the 4L60e... What exactly do the solenoids A&B control?

Hey Mykel, I have one of these in my daily driver!! Easy to get out and easy to install... I did A LOT of research, got a lot of cheap quotes.. but NONE of them had the internal parts I wanted (metal parts instead of plastic).. Quit wasting time - get a Monster!! I have put 10K+ on mine, pulling a 21ft bass boat with NO issues!! DO ADD an external cooler (beside the factory one!!!!)!!
... I use this exact cooler and derale cooler pan!! HEAT destroys transmissions!!!

I have a 99 K1500 Suburban with a weak 4l60e trans. I have a 97 Suburban 4l60e trans available. Will they interchange?

yes. 96-99 are the same. 95 are different. 94-88 are the same. thats the most i can tell you off the top of my head. As long as the trannis are the same type they'll fit. For example a 700r4 from an 86 will fit into a 88 with a minor adjustment. But an 86 700r4 will not fit into a 86 that had a TH-400 without major changes. So as long as they're both 4L60E within the years mentioned above they'll interchange just fine.

Swapped tranny, just need help with matching up wiring

It won't work. The shifting of the 4L60E is done by the computer in the 93. You might check with Summit or Jegs, I think they make a system to make it work.

Looking for transmisson for 1999 4+4 suburban what years will fit

The years will fit is 1998 to present 4l60E for the 1500 suburban. Your transmission on your Suburban is a 4L60E, just make sure it's a 4L60E for the years of 1998 to present. 1997 was the change year and the transmission was sectioned in to a three piece housing where the older 4L60E was a one piece housing and the older housing had a 4 bolt end on the tail housing as to the newer ones have a 5 bolt, the internals are the same through out the years. Good luck and hope this helps.
