How does a CDI work - 2007 Bajaj Platina

That is going to be pretty impossible. You need the CDI box that is the same as the one you had.

Oh.. this is a rare part of Avenger 180dtsi. It was AC CDI and nowadays most are DC.
so you can try with Bajaj Discover 135 DTSI CDI.
mine is working properly..

The only way to "fix" a bad CDI is to replace it. Check all of the wiring for damage and breaks before installing the new CDI.

cdi''s either work or they don't if the switch is working and you still have no spark the cdi is not working

If there is power into CDI but not out to coil then check that kill switch works, also check side-stand switch If OK & coils are earthed then get CDI repaired

hi how did you know were 2 drill the cdi ? i have a 2008 rs i have fitted the powervale but its not working from reserch i think drilling the cdi activates the powervale but if you dont have one the light comes on on ur clock all i need 2 know is were 2 drill the cdi thanx

You can't, just went through this. You'll need to find the correct CDI for your bike, some years will switch back an forth but rarely and Suzuki has never printed, that I've seen, a wiring diagram for the CDI. The 94 might work if you can find it and it should plug right in, the 98 will have a different curve that most likely wont.

hi mate. the cdi was changed in 1995 to accomadate a thottle sensor.pre 1995 the cdi was a square item. post 95 there tapered..
