People 50 has a 2 stroke engine injection oil system - the oil is not recirculated, it's burned. So no oil change and no oil drain plug. You just need to refill the oil tank from time to time.

I suggest you download and print a copy of the service manual, which you can find at the link below. Too many people are trying to maintain these on their own without proper information and the units are burning up. This is the bible for all things Kymco, including lubrication, how to and what if. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

You are incorrect in your statement. The service manual is what the dealers use to service your bike. Such information is contained in it is:

Recommended motor oil SAE20W20 2 stroke motor oil

    Capacity 1.1Liters
    Light comes on /5 liters

I suggest you go back and read from page 3-10 on all sections. It specifically tells you how change the oil on your bike. This time read it. You ask for expert advise and I am an expert. Please correct my rating after you realize your mistake.

Sf20af (sa) kymco scoter how to change the engine oil

the sump plug will be on the bottom of the engine but theseold Honda copy (GY) engines don't use an oil filter they have a wire mesh gauze screen that sits on top of the sump plug bolt so make sure this comes out with the sump plug and is free from any dirt/debris. so drain oil clean the gauze screen then refit and refill your oil. check your oil level if its low or black and burnt this could be your over heating problem but I would also check to make sure the auto choke isn't sticking on. Best of luck hope this is of some help

Oil change instructions and oil recommendation (lost manual)

Hello, oil to use in the engine depends on engine if it is a Kohler you will want to use 10w30 approx 2qts. The Briggs & Stratton engines use HD30 or SAE30 approx 1.5qts. Use the dip stick to ensure you have the right amount and don't over fill.

To change the oil:

  • run engine about 10 minutes to warm up oil so it flows better
  • at the bottom of the dip stick there is either a valve or plug
  • open the valve or plug and let the oil drain (I use an old gallon oil container with a funnel) leave the dip stick out
  • while the oil drains; change the spin on oil filter
  • once all the old oil has drained replace the plug or close the valve
  • wipe down the funnel and use it to refill the new oil
  • use the dip stick to ensure proper fill level
I also recommend that you replace the air filter at the same time, if the engine can't get air is can't run efficiently.

If this is helpful please vote yes, Thank You!!

How do i change the oil on my 01 vw gti vr6

This engine requires synthetic oil, 5 quarts, and oil filter. Remove dip stick, remove oil drain plug at bottom of engine oil pan, remove filter housing, remove oilf filter and o-ring. Replace o-ring and filter, rub o-ring with some new oil, replace filter housing, replace oil drain plug, pour new oil in at top of engine oil cap, replace dip stick, start engine, run for 45 seconds, turn off, check dip stick to make sure oil is at correct level. You are done, recycle old oil.

I changed the oil but my dip stick is showing way too much oil, what is going on? At first I had a hell of a time getting the drain plug out, but finally did. Drained the oil, replaced the filter,...

Make sure you are not checking the oil with the car running first of all, second don't check the oil immediately after turning off the car let the engine stand for about ten minute allowing the oil to drain off the dip stick,

How to check oil on my bike

There are usually two methods to check the oil. One is a dipstick and the other is a sight-glass. You should have one or the other somewhere on the side of the engine crankcase. It should be fairly obvious and not require the removal of any body panels. If you can't find a dipstick in the side of the crankcase you will need to get down on your hands and knees and have a look for a sight-glass instead. This will be like a tiny window with a gauge against which you can check the level.

Genral oil change

Look for the oil dip stick. Now look under underneath the area of bike where the dip stick is. You'll see a round disc with a bolt. That is the drain plug. Now you found it lets begin.
1. Warm the bike up.
2. Turn bike off.
3. Take oil dip stick out.
4. Have your oil pan under the bike
5.. Unbolt drain plug. A spring and screen will come out keep them together.
6. After oil finished draining. Make sure Screen is clean before replacing back in with the spring.
7. Start the bolt in by hand then finish with tightening with socket.
8. Put oil dip stick back in. you're ready to go!

It takes 15W 40 ( .9 liters) Don't forget to press yes if this was helpful : )
