Hi the rectifer will get warm as the machine runs, the fact that the old one burned out could simply be as a result of age
You will also find the wires to the rectifier will also get warm close to the unit, assuming it does not blow a fuse, and that the correct fuses are fitted, and the battery is in good condition, a discharged battery could cause the rectifier to burn out, as the battery acts as a form of resistor for the unit, on some of the older machines like yours the charging system did not work, unless you had 12 volts in the battery to supply the DC side of the alternator

Why is there a burn hole inside the oven, on the cardboard?

That's actually a mica "window" (cover) for the microwaves to come out. And it sounds like the magnetron started arcing and burned a hole in that cover. Either that, or some food (frequently spaghetti sause) got splattered on it, and the microwaves heated it up so much that it burned a hole in the cover. Does the microwave oven still work (heat)? Do you see or hear any arcing? If the microwave oven still works and there is no arcing, you can just replace that cover. Check SearsPartsDirect.com or RepairClinic.com.

The oven will not ignite its a whirlpool model sf380pew

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The air holes on the side of the burner that faces the center of the stove may be clogged or holes near the oven are clogged which are leading to uncompleted combustion of the fuel and thus leading to the foul smell. This helps the pilot or spark igniter to light the gas. Try cleaning the holes with a toothpick.

Heating elements eventually burn out. Sometimes, when an element burns out, you can see that the coil burns in too, or blisters and bubbles.

When your heating element burns out, you have to replace it because they are not repairable. If, when the heating element burns out, the infinite switch that controls it also fails, you have to replace it too.

Igniter is made up of a crystal which gets damaged or distorted physically and wont work fine until replaced. This may lead to incomplete combustion of fuel and is a safety hazard.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Replaced stator and battery, bike still givin trouble

the regulater is located between tha battery and the gas tank .There are (3) white and(2)red wires .See if they are showing signs of damage from heat more than likley they are because when you "boost" or jump these bikes you burn a very weak diode witch regulates the charging time from the stator i would check ebay for the best price on a new regulater rectifier you may need one.I had the same problem with my 2000 model r6.good luck bro!

Both heating elements in the oven not working. I did inspect the h. elements found no burn. thankyou help

Ok, you can confirm element failuer by testing for continuity with a Ohm meter. A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

Another reason, why the elements would not start, might be a defective infinite switch (located behind the control panel, with the burner knob on its shaft). Replace the switch if found defective.

If the elements show continuity, you will need to replace the entire control board(clock, EOC)..

Whirlpool dryer has very little heat

Sounds like your not getting enough gas supply, there is a regulater that controls the flow of gas they can get carbon build-up and restrict the gas.You need to turn off your gas supply and unplug it,remove the regulator and clean the lines,or replace the part.

Hope this helped.Let me know by rating me or

Maytag rsw24a

Sounds like your humidity switch is "on", which is what warms the center post. Turn it off and see if the heat problem goes away, and if you get a buildup of moisture on the center post. If so, turn it back on.
